Financial Fair Play investigation

This will be the pushing point for a lot of people to leave football behind, personally I'm sick off the blatant corruption, greed and the rest of it.

6 clubs tried to leave the league, undermining the Premier league and the FA.

Literally putting 2 fingers up to 150 uears of work, and they collectively got a fine that cost less than stuart downing.

the premier leagues hard stance was to fine these billion pound businesses a nominal fee.

The sheer audacity To even attempt that should have resulted in relegation but no.

and why, because they are the brand, the selling point in foreign territories, they must be protected.

but us, 1 charge and its the prem taking a stand getting tough etc

its a joke, and not a funny one

Tax issue isnt it?

Everton were referred by the Premier League to an independent commission in March following an audit of all top-flight clubs’ financial records for the 2021-22 season. The details of the charge have not been disclosed but are believed to relate to a tax issue connected to loans for Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore dock. The disciplinary hearing began last week and a verdict is expected this year.

I dont know who i am getting more annoyed at, The press for making up reports on something we "could" get based on a made up report, or some Everton Fans acting like we have already had 12 points took off, or the ones who act like its not 12 and wil be happy with a lesser points deduction

Whatever way if somehow we did get any points, we can argue the press basically give the panel a number to try and take away from us, when its supposedly a BCD decision

I stick to a Fine only

Ye, no way they can give us max points fine availble for one charge when City have 115 or something and now Chelsea seemingly have multiple potential charges.
would just see anyone teetering on the edge of FFP to just go hell for leather over it as the punishment would be the same

You might have misread my post. I haven't got a clue what we are being charged with and whether or not we are guilty. Unlike some people on here, I don't make stuff up to suit and I don't later qualify what I have said by saying 'IN MY VIEWPOINT'. I was just saying, to use your words, that apparently @Brett Angell Delight knows even if nobody else does.
Correct. Subscribe to my Onlyfans for a full explanation.

That we made well in excess of the permitted losses, and that not all of that excess could be written off to COVID.

Evidently, the specific element of the losses in question for which we’re being charged relates to loans for the stadium.

It will all be revealed soon, I’m sure, but if we have the merest leg to stand on I’ll be shocked.
Apparently that is not the charge, at least according to most of the media coverage.

This is what I'm talking about, the whole thing is murky as hell. It's no way to run anything.

Tax issue or not they are still accusing us of a breach of P&S rules.

Chelsea have a much bigger revenue intake, so it's much easier to juggle things around, also given the recent articles appearing it looks like they were cooking the books otherwise they would have been in a lot of trouble with FFP/P&S under Abramovich. As I said I don't think it would be any different had it been Arsenal. We have been financially mismanaged for years now, even when we still had the USM money coming in, trouble was always coming imo.
We'll just have wait and compare how they deal with us, City and other offenders - Notts Forest? - but I don't know whether I'll live
long enough to find out.

Tax issue or not the PL are still accusing us of a breach of P&S rules.

If we are indeed found guilty of a breach of the level that's indicated by our accounts then it would be my view people running the finances within the club have been stupid beyond belief.

If we are found guilty even after having benefited from a relaxation of rules due to covid it will take a lot of explaining by those remaining in power at EFC how this came to pass.

You mean the loss of the clubs main sponsor the huge stream of funding due to government censorship due to the Ukraine war, plus the covid losses , plus losing a very high profile player through allegations with a large transfer value.
All mitigating circumstances .

Not sure theres any other club been in that position.
