Did he have a large transfer value? He was a 31 year old with a year left on his contract who was of interest to absolutely nobody. Just because we paid a stupid amount for him doesn’t mean he had a high value.

He probably had a book value of about 12.5m when he was suspended which is still a significant sum.

Barring a major injury crisis, we comfortably survive that.

If we are hit with 6 points, City will almost certainly be relegated with the like-for-like punishments that will surely be handed out.

Can't wait to see the media clambering to justify us getting 6 points off for one infraction, but City getting a suspended punishment for 115 infractions.

If we're docked 6 points, and if clubs are treated fairly, Chelsea and City must surely be getting relegated within the next 2 seasons.

The max deduction they can give is 12 points... City still comfortably qualifies for the CL with that deduction.

Not sure that’s true. That’s the max the PL supposedly wanted imposed on us. But I’m sure the rules say the commission can pretty much put as heavy a fine or as a big a points deduction as they choose.

It can’t be hard can it, surely they have some sort of criteria.

Tax evasion 1-3 points
Overspending 3-6 points
Administration 12 points

Or do they make it up as they go along depending what club has breeched the rules.

I think part of the problem is that we fessed up to some financial irregularites that appear to break the FFP rulea. We were working with the PL to resolve. So basically we have thrown ourselves under the bus and provided all the info to show how we broke the rules to the PL. So even if we had good intentions we may have broken the rules and fesses up with all evidence orovided
City, Chelsea and the other main cheats all have absolutely refuted they have done anything wrong and sent in the lawyers - they only provided absolutely essential minimum documents. Hence they have wrapped the proceeding up in litigation, will take years and they will probably get away with it.
I feel we have Everton'ed the situation.

This isn’t an accident I don’t think. The idea is being planted that we’re getting that deduction, and when it doesn’t happen all hell will break loose. Just seems like we’re the punchbag for the Premier League, media, every rival club fanbase, and I don’t really know why.

They based there article on a twitter equivalent of Chico. It was a total wind up and the Spanish paper ran with it.

Any fine or punishment should be against the highly paid individuals who undertook the wrong doing.

Not metered against the institution causing angst to the innocent fans

Anyone found guilty should be banned from involvement in football.

Don’t punish the fans!
