The argument in the Mail suggests the PL have gone back on their TWICE stated insistence that Everton would face no referral...and that they had basically encouraged the club to spend this season.I don’t agree tbh mate. The PL can only do so much, they can’t hold the hands of Premier League clubs, and they certainly can’t sanction them ahead of time before a club has broken the rules, which seems to be the argument being reported in the Daily Mail.
Relax, it’s just a discussion forum, where we are discussing news on Everton….as always there are differing viewpoints and grasps of context/facts…..no one is basking in any ‘glory’ of this because there is none……just concern. The Red Echo is glorying in this with the gloating support of some "strange" entities on GOT. I hesitate to call them under cover RS. Probably just disorientated blues who revel in negative news on Everton. Gosh. I feel better for getting that off my chest. An old maritime analogy was if they were in a lifeboat, they would be the first pushed over the side for the benefit of the others. End of rant.
I don't know how the club can justify 175 million in Covid losses though or whatever it was to get within the threshold. The Premier League were either played for fools there or just let the club get away with it.

Where did the FA state this? The argument in the Mail suggests the PL have gone back on their TWICE stated insistence that Everton would face no referral...and that they had basically encouraged the club to spend this season.
The question of Everton's culpability is seperate from the process of coming back into line on FFP.
They hate the owners and biard more than they love the club. They'd be prepared to see us go into the Championship after a points deduction. The Red Echo is glorying in this with the gloating support of some "strange" entities on GOT. Eh?Where did the FA state this?
Where did the FA twice state that we would face no punishments?

We've had to contend with this lot for a whole season.
You could be right, but I don’t buy it. I think something has changed, whether it was an agreement to take no action upon looking at the projected accounts for the most recent period, and this has changed, or something else has altered their initial decision to take no action. They allowed it to be counted. Now - after the club has complied to a point where they're back on track - they've changed their tune.
I dont think any commission can ignore that confusion on behalf of the game's authority.
So I cant see any draconian punishment on the basis of what I'm reading.
Our biggest danger isn't this commission's finding, it's losing our focus for the next 10 games.
It only highlights how inept the owner and the board, now and its previous incarnation, have been. We've heavily over spent and actually regressed, significantly. If we are cheating...and it's a big if; we have to be the worst cheaters in the history of cheating. To achieve, what we've achieved, the
last few seasons and have to break the rules to do it, is unbelievable.
