FYLDE KEEP ON THE TAIL OF BURY

Kyle McFarlane was given his opportunity and he did not disappoint. He opened the scoring in the 3rd minute and remained a constant threat before being subbed in the 65th minute for Danny Rowe. Danny Philiskirk regained the lead in the 38th minute with a nicely placed shot low into the bottom corner. It was a close encounter throughout but Fylde defended well enough to make sure of the three points on this occasion.

It was a memorable day for Fylde as they coasted this one 3-1. Sytton pulled it back to 2-1 late in the game but in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Ryan Croasdale put his foot through the ball from 18 yards out with a shot that the keper had no chance of stopping. Fylde looked a lot more like the side that we saw earlier in the season with their fantastic wing play and beautiful direct football Duncan Ferguson has instilled since his tenure began last season.

With the half way stage almost upon us, Fylde sit 2nd in the table in the play-off places. Next in the league is an away trip to leaders Bury with a chance to overtake and go two points clear.

A fantastic away performance at Gigg Lane and three points to see Fylde return to the top of the Vanarama National League. Kyle McFarlane continued his impressive form with a good finish in the 17th minute. Winger Joe Cardle made it 2-1 with a left footed effort that went in off the post from outside the box leaving the keeper rooted to the spot. Fylde rightfully beat fellow contenders Bury and head to the top of the table after 20 games.

Everton have recently qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League competition but their league form after a third of the Premier League season has been alarming. With a recent 1-1 draw with Burnley, it is assumed fans are concerned with Silva's lack of a plan B approach and the board are beginning to take notice.

The most shocking thing about this is that Sandro got a goal. For us.

Blue Phil Sedgwick can **** off as well.

BT SPORT DISCUSS EVERTON MANAGERIAL VACANCY

Questions were asked to Martin Keown and Rio Ferdinand by Gary Lineker in regards to the Marco Silva sacking and the potential successor to the post.

MK: Silva needed more time in my opinion, he got Everton back into Europe last season and had qualified for the knockout stage. It's what Everton fans what; a trophy.

RF: He was sleepwalking into a relegation battle, 5 points adrift of the bottom three and a win was looking more and more unlikely. He had no Plan B and the football wasn't working. I saw the West Ham game recently and the players looked completely lost out there.

GL: To me it looked like it went the same way it did with Roberto Martinez, a good solid first season but followed by a poor one. Everton, with the players they have shouldn't be 15th in the table!?

RF: He had no back up plan, the defence became a shambles. He missed an opportunity to sign a goalscorer in the summer and resorted to playing Sandro. It says it all.

GL: Who will go there? Are we looking at another rescue job for someone until the end of the season?

MK: I think David Unsworth is capable of steadying the ship. He didn't do too badly last time. I think the last thing the Evertonians want is Sam Allardyce or an equivalent.

RF: Well, one name I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned is Duncan Ferguson's. He knows the club like the back of his hand, been there as a coach for many years and he's doing a great job in the conference with Fylde. He's got them fighting for promotion and had a good steady season there last year. The fans at Everton love him, they will want him to do well. I don't see why not? He plays stylish football and is defensively sound. Give him a contract until the end of the season.

MK: He's unproven Rio, yes he's doing a good job with Fylde but the Premier League is a different level. He went to Fylde to make a name for himself. He has a chance of getting them promoted to the football league, why on earth would he back away from that now? I say let him learn his trade under the radar and build from the ground up.

RF: You've got to remember, he loves Everton. He will want this chance more than anything.
