'Duncan Ferguson impressed at first glance'

Duncan Ferguson walked onto the Mill Farm pitch before kick-off introducing himself to the fans of AFC Fylde. The game started slowly with neither side breaking into gear and a few shots failed to test the two goalkeepers.

Fylde came into it more into the second half after Duncan had a chat with them at half-time.The physicality of the Ferguson-era was on show maybe a bit too much as midfielder Kaby was sent off for a second yellow card. The sires were evened up ten minutes later when Joe Elfull was shown a straight red card. Danny Rowe was brought into the game and had the running of the Braintree back line but often found himself isolated up front. Either team were unable to find a breakthrough but Ferguson has said there is a foundation to build on.

Ferguson meets his squad on the training pitch

The first team were put through their paces with some physical training early Monday morning followed by some passing and moving training drills led by Duncan Ferguson. Duncan is impressed with the squad he has at his disposal with players like Jim Kellerman on loan from St. Mirren and striker Danny Rowe who was once on the books of Manchester United. Speaking to AFC Fylde TV "The lads are young and learning their trade here, there is a lot of talent at this club and I believe it's up to me to get the best out of them. We've got lads here with experience willing to help the younger lads and the overall mood amongst them is positive"
