The first half against Chesterfield was cagey but as soon as Danny Rowe received the ball and put his foot through it lacing it into the bottom corner, the confidence in the players grew. Duncan micro-managed the team through this fine performance, a menacing presence constantly in the technical box. The football in the attacking third was something you could see the manager had a big influence on this week as the fluidity in attack was beautiful. Chesterfield began to threaten late on but Ferguson roared at his side to keep it tight at the back and clear any loose ball.
It was Ferguson-esque in the 94th minute as Francis-Angol powered a header straight into the back of the net securing a vital 0-2 away win.

His actions had clearly aroused the malevolent force that was enveloping AFC Fylde and was clearly using the media to destroy his legacy.
