As others have mentioned, Sheffield United? Something tells me The Skybet Championship might be too big a step up from the VNL, but I can see why Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson might be tempted.

Something is drawing me towards the idea of a promotion campaign with Falkirk. Get someone like Richard Gough or Davie Weir in as assistant manager maybe?

A Fylde legend has decided to hang up his boots. The 35 year old tireless midfielder finished as Fylde's top scorer last season and was one of the sides best players. He will be remembered for scoring remarkable goals from almost anywhere on the pitch. He also won goal of the season last season for his incredible strike against Leyton Orient.

DF: I asked him to reconsider but his mind is made up. What a player and what a gentleman. He knows this football club is always here for him and I hope maybe one day he could come back in a coaching capacity.

Duncan Ferguson has signed a new one year deal with AFC Fylde. His backroom staff remain the same with his assistant Jon Perkin.
Harry Kewell remains in charge of Youth Development, Grant Dargo stays on as goalkeeping coach, Gareth Piper - fitness coach, Darren Huckerby and Steve Thornber - First team coaches.

Barry Corr is the manager of Fylde U23's.
Joey Barton is the manager of Fylde U18's.

TRANSFER INS AND OUTS

Denver Hume and Ryan East join the club on permanent deals after spending time here on loan. The exciting transfer of the window is Oliver Sarkic who is a prolific Centre Forward who was contracted to Leeds United but spent his time there out on loan in Portugal. Danny Smith is regarded as one for the future as the midfielder has been released from Everton this season. Ryan Reynolds come in for cover at Central defence and Kyle Cameron is also a good central defender. Tyler Reid comes from Swansea City but was at Yeovil in League Two on loan last season. Duncan does not want to add too many signings this season and believes the incomings cover the core squad.

Kyle McFarlane has lef the club after turning down the offer of a new contract. He was promised more regular first team football but when given the chance he did not impress. Kyle also expected the club to be promoted last season and has left on the back of this. Duncan Ferguson has stated to the local press if there is anyone at the club who is not completely behind it, they can leave. There had been issues in the past with D'Margio Wright-Phillips but it is believed he has now settled down and is willing to kick on.​
