Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

PRE-SEASON BEGINS

It was the end of June 2041 and it saw the return of the AFC Fylde first team to the training complex. John Armah, Andreas Chatziaros, James Gould and Anthony Anderson all returned to their clubs after their loan spells had ended but there was some good news. Emeka Bala and Ron Patterson were both offered a one year extension and this was accepted. Both John Armah and Andreas Chatziaros were both offered extensions but Tottenham and Chelsea rejected the offer.

The pre-season fixtures were announced and there was just one trip to Northern Ireland when they play Cliftonville.

The transfer rumours were coming thick and fast and deals were being tied up early in the window. Duncan Ferguson always returned early to start work and was focused more than ever as the team embarked once again on The Championship.

SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW 2041/42

Duncan Ferguson and AFC Fylde have been busy throughout the summer securing deals for the forthcoming season with seven players at the club on loan. Fylde lost Grant Thomas, Dominic Kidby, Grant Foster, Jake Thompson and Stewart Milby as they were unfortunate not to receive new contracts and Sean Jordan retired at the age of 35.

PLAYERS IN

Timothy Dawkins.png

19 year old Right Back Timothy Dawkins joins the club on loan from Blackburn Rovers. Dawkins joined Rovers last season after two seasons at Hull City and is aiming for more first team football in The Championship with Fylde. He is a player with a bright future in the game and will offer pace and creativity down the right side.

Rod Edwards.png

22 year old Right Winger Rod Edwards joins Fylde on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Edwards was not getting the first team football he wanted and with Fylde needing cover on the right side, Ferguson snapped up the winger. Edwards is known for his quickness and good crossing ability. Edwards certainly fits the mould Ferguson is looking for with impressive work rate and determination.

David Boakye.png

22 year old Midfielder David Boakye joins the club on loan from Arsenal. The midfielder has four seasons of Championship football under his belt and will be on loan again for the 2041/42 season. A very determined player with the ability to turn a game around and can take control of the midfield which is an exceptional trait to have. Boakye is an all rounder and has a track record of supplying for his team-mates in attacking positions.

Ben Burke.png

Fylde have signed a Goalkeeper and 22 year old Ben Burke has been tipped to play for England in his career. The keeper signs on a permanent deal for £250k and is likely to be the number one keeper for Fylde this season. Burke had a great season at Hull City in 2040/41 as he played his part well as a rival to Fylde helping secure 2nd place and automatic promotion for The Tigers. Burke is good in the air and is a fantastic shot stopper. He kept 15 clean sheets for Hull last season.

Sam Gill.png

19 year old Striker Sam Gill joins on loan from Arsenal. Yet to make his mark in football, he will be a good back up option for Fylde this season but it will be an important season for the lad from Middlesbrough as he looks to impress his club whilst on loan.

Tapiwa Sibanda.png

21 year old Midfielder Tapiwa Sibanda joins Fylde for £600k from Arsenal. Sibanda is a hard working player with League One experience and is determined to succeed with Fylde in The Championship.

David McMenemy.png

18 year old Midfielder David McMenemy joins the club from Dunfermline for £850k. The midfielder has represented Scotland U21's twice and will be looking to feature more for the National side this season. At only 18 he has a huge future ahead of him and it seems Ferguson may be looking to loan out McMenemy for the season to give him more first team exposure.

Mike Coleman.png

19 year old Striker Mike Coleman joins Fylde on loan from Arsenal. At only 19, he knows where the net is and had a great season two seasons ago at Gillingham scoring 21 league goals. Coleman scored the winner for Gillingham against Fylde in a 3-2 win two seasons ago. Arsenal see the potential as they recently signed him from Bristol City for £8.75M. Coleman can also play on the left wing and provides a good back up option to Emeka Bala.

PRE-SEASON RESULTS 2041/42

Pre season 4041.png

DF: We have had a very good and a very productive pre-season. Players are in good shape. Jason Breacker missed a bit of it through injury but he's on his way back and should be fit in a couple of weeks. It was useful to see how the team will line up this season and to see how our new players will fit in. It will be difficult trying to pick eleven men each week but we've got a high standard here which has been implemented since I came back. If players aren't getting time, they need to show me why rather than cry about it. I want to see players fighting to get out there and that comes from the training ground and every single minute they get on the pitch. We had our most successful season last season and broke records. The players certainly stepped up and delivered when they were called upon. This season is no different, we expect the same. In fact, we expect more because this league is fiercely competitive and we need everyone to give it their all.

DANNY ROWE'S SEASON PREVIEW

It's an exciting time for Fylde and to see how we fair this season. The standard is set and it looks like the transfer business is done. I do think we have brought in too many midfielders so I'm not sure what the plan is here or whether Ferguson is thinking of going for three in the centre of the park. I would like to see another defender brought in but Dawkins can also play as a Centre Back so he acts as cover there. Just like the rest of you, I can't wait to get started and it's great to start off at home against Bristol City. Let's get a win and build our confidence. In other news, I want to congratulate my son Jon on joining Rushall Olympic on loan in the National League North this season. I'll be keeping an eye out for him this season and hoping he can get on the scoresheet.

=Bristol City result.webp

The opening day of a new campaign and the start of a new season in The Championship! A sold out Mill Farm was in fine voice for the visit of Bristol City who finished 16th last season. Team news was in and debuts were handed to Goalkeeper Ben Burke, Right Back Timothy Dawkins, Midfielder David Boakye and Winger Rod Edwards. Tommy Smyth was selected in the middle and Elliot Richardson was awarded the captaincy for the season at just 18 years old. It's the start of a big season for Fylde who will be looking to secure enough points to stay up. One minute in, Bala came forward and crossed into the box, Rod Edwards got his foot round the ball and slotted into the bottom corner! Dream start for Fylde! Rod Edwards on his debut! Five minutes later Bala came forward again and played it to Edwards on the edge of the box and his first time shot made it 2-0! Unbelievable scenes at Mill Farm! Fylde were all over Bristol City. Hutchinson put the corner into the box and Lyons-Mayman was sent crashing to the ground inside the box and the referee awarded the penalty! Rod Edwards wanted to grab his hattrick but the keeper went right and pushed it away! Bristol City were going hard with their tackling but it didn't deter The Coasters, Bala played it down the left for Westwood who continued his run and his dink into the box found Lyons-Mayman's head as he opened his account! The second half started with Mathieson bombing forward for Bristol City, he was allowed space to continue into the box when Richardson had to try to stop him and was penalised for holding his shirt, penalty given! Dean went for the top right corner and Burke earned the plaudits when he palmed it away! The first change came on 60 minutes and it was Boakye to go off after a decent performance and a familiar face came on, Ron Patterson. With ten minutes to go and Fylde comfortable, it was looking like a dream start. Stuart Greene came on to replace a tiring John Hutchinson and within minutes scored a fantastic goal from 20 yards when he put his foot through the ball with his left foot and powered it into the bottom left corner! Fylde are unstoppable! What a dominant display from Fylde! They looked so relaxed and they played like a team who have been in this league for years! A perfect start!

DF: I couldn't have asked for any better! We looked like a very comfortable team, not too confident but a team with high work rate and commitment. I really can't fault anyone today, it was a flawless victory!

Have we tried to buy Bala? If not, why not? Sell everyone and just have Bala up top by himself.

Don't need a keeper or a defence when Bala is about.

Watch out Bala's about
Watch out Bala's about
You better Watch out
Cos Bala's about!!!!

The best thing about Beadle’s about was at the end when Beadle would show up in disguise dressed as a sex criminal and surprise the person who was getting pranked.
The cherry on top of an already well baked cake.

We’ll have someone drive a forklift, pick up his van and drop it in a dock and then I show up, in my sex offender outfit with little round sunglasses and bad halitosis.

You sure you don’t want to try out a different disguise Jeremy? You always pick this one. Why not a business man or something?
