Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

Sunderland vs AFC Fylde
17th August 2041

It was Ferguson against Coady once again as the former Bury manager joined Sunderland in the summer. Ferguson opted to play Ben Haley at Right Back with Chapman and Richardson in central defence. The sides had met over the years in League One with Fylde coming out on top with four wins to Sunderland's one. 7 minutes into the match and Ben Haley played the free-kick short to John Hutchinson who had time to bring it forward and line up a shot from outside the box which found it's way into the bottom left corner! He was unchallenged there! Fylde in front at the Stadium of Light! Sunderland hit back a couple of minutes later when Nicoladis was free at the far post and he nodded it down for Payne to slot into the back of the net. Nicoladis came forward on 30 minutes taking it past Westwood with Richardson backing off, he took a shot and Burke turned it away nicely. Rod Edwards took it on the right from Emeka Bala, a nice pass to Sibanda and on to Hutchinson but his shot was just wide on the stroke of half-time. Fylde made a double change with just over ten minutes to go, Craddock came on for Edwards and Zach Winstanley came on for Lyons-Mayman. Fylde won a free-kick as the match was drawing to a close, the ball came into the box and it fell to Sibands but his shot was blocked, Craddock took the ball and tried for space and his shot was blocked too. Greenwood got it away and the referee blew for time. A good point for Fylde on the road.

Hull City vs AFC Fylde
20th August 2041

=Hull result.png

Timothy Dawkins came back in at Right Back for the trip to Hull and new signing 18 year old David McMenemy made his debut in midfield next to David Boakye. Fylde made a fast start when Rod Edwards cut inside from the right, passed it to Hutchinson who blasted it into the top right corner after 2 minutes! Hull caught Fylde on the counter and L'estrange played a long ball for Rathbone who kept calm and tucked it away past Burke on 23 minutes to bring it level. Hutchinson had another chance from range this time clipping the top of the bar as he eyed the keeper off his line. The second half started and Hull got a corner which was taken by Harrop, Chapman headed away but Glenn Kenny had space to take it down and hit a right footed shot right into the bottom corner to make it 2-1 to the home side. Sibanda came on for McMenemy for the last 30 minutes to try to salvage something for The Coasters. With just under 20 minutes to go Bala got into the game exchanging passes with Hutchinson and striking a shot from the edge of the box that took a deflection and went in to pull the game level! Fylde took the chance throwing the youngster Winstanley on for Lyons-Mayman. The game came to an end and a fair point was gained for Fylde once again on the road.

Duncan, another point gained and just one defeat so far this season, you're off to a good start!

DF: Getting results away from home ands grafting for the points is something we need to keep up, pleased with the fight back and the attitude tonight. Pleased with how we have started the season and we are able to play our football, our way. We took our goals well, Hutchinson with a cracker to open the scoring and Bala with a nice finish towards the end to get the point.

AFC Fylde vs Millwall
24th August 2041

=Millwall result.png

With eight points taken from the first five matches, it was deemed a good start for newly promoted Fylde and John Huchinson was certainly coming into his own. The same side took to the field that fought for a point against Hull in midweek. Fylde pressed with intensity and it was causing Millwall problems, Richardson's knock down to Sibanda was perfectly executed and he turned to set up Bala in space, he cut inside and done what he likes to do and struck it into the bottom right corner on 6 minutes! Millwall caught off guard early on!Boakye had a shot a few minutes later which was pushed out by the keeper and Hutchinson's follow up was deflected behind, Fylde all over Millwall here pressing high up the pitch. Just as things were going well, Bala stopped in his tracks with an injury, he went off on 21 minutes for Winstanley. Lyons-Mayman went to the left side. Lyons-Mayman played a good ball forward for Hutchinson and his shot stung the hands of the keeper at the post, good effort and good stop. Millwall started the second half with aggression, McGill went in hard on Rod Edwards taking the ball but Fylde were not deterred and when they won it back, Edwards played it to Hutchinson on the edge of the 18 yard box and he toe poked it into the bottom corner! 4th of the season for John Hutchinson! Fylde kept their lead and what a solid performance from front to back for The Coasters. Millwal could not get near them and they are looking good so far this season!

AFC Fylde vs Bromley
League Cup Second Round
27th August 2041

=Bromley result.png

Bromley are not to be taken lightly and since being promoted they are 2nd in League Two and undefeated in their first six. This could be a potential slip-up for Fylde if they are not at their best. Fylde made changes with Alexander and Haley coming into defence, McMenemy and Patterson in midfield, Mike Coleman and Patrick Craddock on the wings and Greene playing behind Sam Gill. Dale Alexander played a hopeful long ball from his own area and the Bromley defence thought it would reach the keeper but Sam Gill kept running and the keeper backed off as he got there first and launched it into the right side of the net! A few minutes before half-time Bromley were split apart on the Fylde counter attack, Gill switching it to Greene, who then knocked it back to Gill to bury his second of the game! Just as we thought Bromley were out of it they pulled one back when Matt Field lobbed the ball into the box and Horgan wrapped his foot around it to put it over the keeper and into the net. With just over 30 minutes to go, McMenemy put in a good corner and Coleman headed at the near post and the keeper fumbled it over the line, 3-1! Richie Byrne picked up his second yellow as he barged into the back of Ben Haley at the Fylde throw-in and received his marching orders on 71 minutes. On 85 minutes, McMenemy put in another good ball, from the free-kick deep in the opposition half, Chapman headed towards goal and Coleman finished it off! Four minutes additional time and Matt Field received his marching orders for a second yellow when he went through the back of Patrick Craddock. It has been a tough night for Bromley. It's a comfortable night for Fylde as they progress to the third round!
DF: I think Bromley have their hands full in the league and are doing really well so good luck to them for the rest of the season. It was a pleasing performance and it was a good chance to give some players a chance, we worked hard and won the game, it'll be interesting to see who comes up next for us.

LEAGUE TABLE

Guys, we have a problem. The data has corrupted and is unable to load. I have tried various ways to try and get it back but it's not looking good. I've thought about it and think the time has come to restart on the latest version (we are currently five years behind). If you're happy to continue, then so am I. I'm thinking of taking over from present day and doing something we have not yet done, Everton.

SEAN DYCHE HAS BEEN SACKED BY EVERTON!

"We feel Sean has done all he can at the club and surviving relegation last season was something we did not want to repeat again" said owner Farhad Moshiri. "The season hasn't got off to the best start and we feel as a club we need to push in a different direction."

After eleven league games, Everton have won just two and find themselves in 14th place, three points off Newcastle in 18th. The two league wins came away to Brighton and home to Brentford but losses to Aston Villa and Burnley could not be ignored. Everton were also defeated in the League Cup Third Round after defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park. The recent draw at home to Wolves finally saw the owner give in to the supporters and relieved Dyche of his managerial duties; winless in his last six. Everton are due to travel to Tottenham Hotspur this coming weekend and will be looking to appoint a new manager in due course.
