It was necessary to upgrade our core forum software.

This was a big'un with a lot of moving parts - so please use this thread to flag any probs.

Thanks to @mattw who helped massively by setting up a separate test site environment and being on hand to help prevent me breaking the whole thing.

Still getting Adblock nonsense

Popping up telling me I’m using it, then popping up telling me I’m not


All I’m doing is browsing with the same browser on the same device (no changes)

Why does the clear page views increase every time there is a detection? I definitely have everything set up right and the site completely exempt but occasionally when i first come on there is a detection for a second and then it clears. Must sometime take a second or two for the exempt settings to kick in. Point is though that i am now up to 23 clear page views required to clear the warning when i am not even using any ad blocking on the site.

Just thought i would mention it as it is a bit of a pain and seems a bit excessive.

I figure your adblock is occasionally blocking ads before twigging the site is whitelisted. Like a very short delay as you click through.

The detection is basically = blocked ad = adblock.

I've increased the number of detections of adblock before you're lashed in an adblock usergroup which will hopefully reduce the nags.

You might not have a browser adblock, but you have something blocking ads.

[Edit] Some antivirus or security software includes web protection features that can block ads or prevent tracking scripts. For example, tools like Norton, Kaspersky, and Bitdefender may include ad-blocking as part of their web protection features.

If anyone has SurfShark have a look at the CleanWeb settings. There is a whitelist function there but it seems a bit temperamental.
