Apologies for the scheduled 40 minute downtime today.

It was necessary to upgrade our core forum software.

This was a big'un with a lot of moving parts - so please use this thread to flag any probs.

Thanks to @mattw who helped massively by setting up a separate test site environment and being on hand to help prevent me breaking the whole thing.

Keep getting adblock alerts due to my work laptop. I have adblock disabled for GOT on every other device but can't change it on the work one. Doomed to see those messages?

Afraid so mate. It'll keep lashing you in an adblocking usergroup with the nag whenever you block ads, before taking you out when you don't. Appreciate you lifting it on personal devices though.

There's no pop up nag if you ever have a forum sub though - just one that sits at the top you can close. if others are finding they get nagged with pop ups and they have a sub, please let me know.

Found a way to remove tracking code (utm etc) from url's without the need to install an addon for anyone interested. In your ad block program such as Ublock, just enable the filter called "AdGuard URL Tracking Protection". That way your are just doing the action that you want instead of an addon that also does 20 things that you don't want it to do.

No changes made to safari, just got a random Adblock detection on opening the forum for some reason.
Link above says I’ve been all clear up to now.

Managed to flag myself again. Misclicked on a thread while scrolling a forum index and hit back before the unintended page fully loaded.
Janky software got pissy because it couldn't load all its ads before I went back to the previous page.

It doesn’t scroll so well on Safari on iPhone.

Jerky when I try to scroll down.

Forum is crap.

Can you fix this?

Also when you quote a post it doesn’t automatically take you down the bottom to reply.

Just to let you know that I am aware that the 'adblock checker' on GOT shows that I am blocking constantly despite the fact that grandoldteam.com is on my 'allowlisted websites' (as above) Adblock Plus on Edge
Don't waste your time trying to guide me as I really haven't a clue.

Will ask my Son to sort it out over the weekend.

I've got ublock disabled for this site, but I'm randomly getting adblock popup. If I browse a few pages it clears again. I am only accessing the site on Firefox for android. I'm not using a VPN.

Random but anyone else noticed since the upgrade when you're on PC, and typing out a message, if you try highlight a word it does highlight but you can't actually see it as highlighted?

I did change the text hover colours as was forced - doesn't help being colour blind. It should look like the below - which seems OK to me?

Ive glanced at your account and can see it very rarely detects.




... what I've just done is increase the amount of times it needs to detect adblock before putting you in the naughty usergroup of adblockers...



So hopefully that'll help.

I can see this fine on my phone, not at all on my PC, I'm guessing my monitor is maybe too bright though? It's practically just white on my PC monitor.
