Forum Upgrade

Hi everyone,

Apologies for the scheduled 40 minute downtime today.

It was necessary to upgrade our core forum software.

This was a big'un with a lot of moving parts - so please use this thread to flag any probs.

In the immediate, your style choices (day vs night) will have likely changed. You can change this back in the footer link, or within your preferences;

Thanks to @mattw who helped massively by setting up a separate test site environment and being on hand to help prevent me breaking the whole thing.

I'm encountering an issue where the site continually flags that I'm using an adblocker across all of my devices, even after disabling adblocking features.

Here's what I've tried so far:
  1. Disabled adblockers at the browser level entirely.
  2. Whitelisted the site in all relevant browser extensions.
  3. Changed my DNS settings to ensure the site is fully accessible and no DNS-level filtering is occurring.
Despite these actions, the site still detects an adblocker. I'm wondering if there might be other factors at play, such as:
  1. Local caching or cookies triggering the detection.
  2. Any script-blocking features within the browser (e.g., privacy features like tracking prevention).
  3. The possibility of misidentification by your detection system due to network configurations (such as VPNs or firewalls).
Could you provide any insights or logs that might shed light on what’s causing the persistent adblock detection? Any technical details would be helpful for troubleshooting on my end.

Thanks in advance for your assistance @GrandOldTeam

Very difficult to diagnose this side mate. My guess would be to revisit DNS - if I disable this;

... you'll show as clear within Firefox which you use on both devices, but you'll still be blocking ads.

I can see on Wednesday though you weren't if you can recall any changes then;

@chicoazul the adblock you have on will be causing it.

Forum is rapid for me - phones 4 years old too.

Just tested on iPhone safari and rapid on that too.

Page size is very small and average loading times across all audience is very quick so god knows.

Mate?! I've just noticed that you've updated your profile pic to a GIF image?

Is this a new feature on the forum, or have I just been oblivious and have never noticed it all these years?!? 😂

If it's a new feature, then I can only foresee chaos on here.

This will end... Poorly. 🤔

I don’t know mate, never thought it was possible on this forum. I just uploaded the pic.
