2021/22 Frank Lampard

Some of the games we've won we've had hardly any possession. Chelsea 22%. Man utd 33% leicester 33% so im not sure how you come to that conclusion.
Saturday we were on top when it was a level playing field. 6 attempts at goal to their 1 by the time of the red card. Im really finding it tiresome all the experts coming out and claiming how he got it wrong to play a side a man short with 70 minutes left. I think thats hard enough for decent teams let alone one with so many average players who struggle to do the basics.
This isn't an easy job even for a vastly experienced manager. Benitez and even ancelotti in the end found that out.
I have no idea if lampard will be good or bad in the long run but we should run with him not being perfect after walking into a club with possibly the worst recruitment in this league over the past 4 to 5 years. And i dont say that lightly. We're an awful side ability wise. All i think we have is grit and passion and he's getting that in most games now.

It's a ridiculous job and it doesn't get any easier next season. Everything indicates we need to sell with no guarantee on how much we'll be able to spend.

I'll be surprised if Lampard is here this time next year. If he is, he's done an incredible job in the most difficult of circumstances. Think the entire fan base is desperate for him to succeed. For me right now, success is avoiding relegation this season and the next.

Agree with all that mate, I like him for the exact reason you’ve said.

If we do this and stay up, I think he has big job of work ahead of him, transitioning and adding quality and specifically creativity to this playing squad is going to be like turning an oil tanker around. But you know he’s charismatic, enthusiastic, an icon and a name - I think he would be very good at attracting players or rather selling them the project as they say in new money.
I think he comes here just at the best time for him, tbh (if we stay up). There's lots going through the exit and one or two will be sold. He can fashion his own team in one fell swoop in the summer.

We just need to be in the PL!!!!!

IF we survive.

Is Fronk the best mon to lead us in to the 2022-23 PL Season?
I think we have to give him next season if he keeps us up. He’s an Inteligent guy, learning as he goes but he has united the fans like no one has for years(Ancelotti didn’t really have them in the ground). I honestly think he will build something here if we allow.

Hope your might mate. Don’t want to tempt the fates. But if we stay up I hope some way, some how he’s supported with finance but also patience.

The club terrify me with their decisions, I know you don’t agree on the individuals, but binning Digne, Jamo, Bernard while also knowing we’d be without G.S. in six months was insane and here we are fighting for our lives, having to rely on containing, pragmatism and hoping we nick one. Someone somewhere thought that was the clever way they go. Bananas.

Sure if he actually gets to do that. Here is hoping there is no nonsense from Moshiri/Kenwright/Kia and Frank/Thelwell can do their thing and be judged properly next season.

I look at our midfield and honestly think are you the worst in this league? Possibly are. Some grafters in there but thats about it.
We dont really have much up front either.
We're a poor side ability wise. No matter how many defend him i think marcel brands was an absolute chancer and waste of time at this club.

We all know and we've all been watching it unfold for the past 5 years or so.

I'm hoping Moshiri feels like he got burnt listening to that slug Kia and veers clear of silly decisions like that
I don't think he will, they are in it together, Frank has to stand up to them, he needs to take no messing from an absent owner, other managers have put up with it but if he keeps us up he has earned the right to be demanding.

I think if Leeds lost their game just before ours started he'd have gone with a more conservative approach.

IMO he abandoned what had been working for us to get us to that Brentford game and wanted to go for the win by blitzing Brentford.

He should have instructed the team to get back behind the ball and play deeper once the breakthrough was made. We had no need to chase another. Brentford should have been drawn onto us and us hitting them on the break, not the other way around. It left Branthwaite exposed and he committed his calamity.

It's a pattern with FL in games against West Ham, Burnley and now Brentford. You have to manage a relegation threatened team in a responsible way. In those 3 games alone he threw 7 points away.

He's done a lot right, but he's also shown how much he has to learn as a manager when making decisions in-game. He needs composure and to go conservative when needed.

As much as I am not a fan of Lampad, that's just nonsense. We were so on top, the 2nd was coming may be a 3rd. We could have easily adopted a more conservative approach once the job was done. Branthwaite was a idiot twice, first for getting out by a long ball then compounded by committing a stupid foul. Had Toney scored we could have easily too back the advantage with 11 on the field

The smart thing to do would be to sack him....

Then appoint him back after a day and get the new manager bounce into the final 2 games.

We didn't need a 2nd or 3rd though did we?

One nil up and players behind the ball and us able to counter attack an overstretched Brentford would have been perfect as a tactic to adopt.

Lampard just didn't get that message on the pitch and we lost 3 points because of it...just as we lost 3 points at Burnley.

There was no message to give, we were going up the gears.
