Imagine where we’d be if those lads had been in the kamikaze Benitez love boat with you.

Benitez was a disaster for Everton. An unmitigated, unequivocal, irredeemable disaster.

Let it go, face forwards. You’ll feel better about life, I guarantee it.
The players wouldn't have been as petrified as they were on the pitch, for one.

Supporters are there to support, not barrack the manager and the team he puts out.

The sense of entitlement is pathetic.

How typically Everton, that we have come through a period of huge turmoil and stumbled into the right decisions almost by accident.

Lampard does look like a really good fit for our club. It should also be noted that we have completely overhauled the squad this season and addressed most of our problem areas. Gray, Townsend, Mykolenko, Patterson, El Ghazi, Ali and Van De Beek make a tremendous difference.

We now have loads of depth and quality. In midfield and forward areas and should be able to cope with injuries and suspensions. We also have options to play in many different ways.

The Godfrey injury leaves us light, at CB. Let’s hope the magic Lampard has cast on Holgate doesn’t work out.

All told, the future looks much rosier and I have confidence we can save ourselves and push on.

Ferguson, Unsworth, Ebbrell, Baines, Kelly etc might beg to differ. And will.

Nonsense mate.

Signed Gray & Townie for £1.7 million.

Brought in Patterson/Mykolenko who hopefully are ones for the future.

Gave Anthony Gordon a regular run in the side after King Carlo binned him off.

Chased off Brands who's wasted £200 million on bang average players.

Chased off Donachie who's fitness regimes have overseen the worst injury crisis we've seen in decades.

Yes it ended badly but long term he'll have laid foundations for us to push on under someone like Lampard.

He's just so refreshingly open and honest he knows what everton is and what it should be about

I do believe yesterday he was touched by everton and we all know what that means for frank
He's 43 now, if he hangs around for 3 years this will be him at 46.

Why don’t you get yourself along and show the away fans how to be away fans, Dave?

Or keep slinging insults at the lads that follow us everywhere on the Internet.

Up to you.

It was a a disaster. It won’t be viewed as anything but.

After Donachie left we lost Mina for a month, had DCL reinjured after a couple of appearances for another 3 weeks, lost Tom Davies for the rest of the season, had Doucoure break down and lost Ben Godfrey yesterday for god knows how long.

I fail to see how this is a step up.

Common denominator is the staff they have with them 7 days a week.

Drain the swamp.

Ferguson, Ebbrell, Unsworth, Baines, Kelly etc should have been punted this time around.

They create a miasma of amateurism and cronyism that seeps into every pore.

I like the idea of ex-players being around the club, but only if they've been successful, or have a track record, or have some potential, and there's no evidence of that with Ebbrell, Jeffers, Unsworth etc...on the other hand, Lee Carsley seems ok, Rooney might be ok a few years, or very good, same possibility with Arteta, so I wish we would be less about handing out jobs as charity to our ex players, and more about giving them opportunity to prove themselves before we hire them on lifelong contracts.

Lampard, Cole, Clement have been at successful clubs and know what professionalism looks like, and I hope they call out any amateurism and make improvements while they are here.
I guess the clique you're referring to in other posts is Kenwright -DBB-Unsworth-Big Dunc + the various ex players with no track record of success?

There must be something about the backroom staff you are with every day, the kitchen staff, masseuse, the physios, like if the basics are not there - punctuality, urgency, making use of the facilities, hard work etc - behind the scenes, you can't just turn it on on the pitch. Sometimes people who have been at the same place for a long time simply just stagnate or lose their drive, and it could be as simple as that - they're maybe not pushing themselves and so don't push people around them....

lot of work to do, but I hope Lampard is given space and authority to do things more than just with the First XI. Early signs are great, and it will be amazing if he's given a chance to change our club culture as well as the team. Excited and optimistic again! (I hate supporting us sometimes lol)

There still has to be an overhaul in that department imo but for the first time since Moyes we had a manager who wanted to address other departments rather than focusing solely on the footballing side.

Koeman and Alladyce weren't arsed.

Silva and Ancelotti only wanted to focus on the playing side.

I hope Lampard continues on from where Benitez left off otherwise injuries will stop any chance we have of progressing if we are losing key players every week.

You asked a question and it was answered.
I didn’t, actually. I suggested you have a rational think about how mad your position was. He was sending us down.

You talk of “pathetic entitlement,” without realising how absurdly entitled you sound without even paying for a match ticket to make yourself a stakeholder.

It’s up to you how you embarrass yourself as an Evertonian on a message board, but the simple truth is you don’t change things with your endless ranting on here.

The lads that make their voices heard at the match change things.
