Gomes was probably the worst performing player since Lampard took over. Some of his performances were absolutely abysmal, and totally unacceptable.

yeah and I still think Davies is worse.
Gomes did well against leeds at goodison.
The last time Davies did well was in his debut against City 5 years ago?
As I said elsewhere. I don't think Gomes is the answer but he's capable of being much better, I'm not sure Davies is.

I don't think for one second it's all on the manager. You'd need some sort of hybrid of Clough and Ferguson to knock a tune out of this lot
but I was shocked at how they couldn't even do the basics and Lampard has to take some responsibility for that.

Oh for sure and as I’ve said a myriad of times I’m by no means sold on the manager myself (the man I like). We’re now in the position where we have to put all our eggs in his basket because we’re at the point where we couldn’t attract anyone of note whatsoever in the managers seat

As far as I can see, throughout the US tour lampard insisted on Davies where Gomes and Allan are better options.
He didn't play Mina and Tarkowski together (i think) at all.
He stuck with a formation that doesn't work, the players seemed to be disorganized and lack any direction.
I know our squad is crap but it was like they'd never met. There was only one new signing.
I like his passion and he speaks well but I can see why they really pushed for Anthony Barry to help out.

It is pre season.
They used 23 players last night, everything so far has been about building fitness of players rather than putting his first eleven together.... that starts from now on as hopefully the hard graft of building fitness is largely complete.

Of course last night was disappointing but maybe more was learned from that than there would have been from a win.

I think it’s people venting frustration from last season, the current window and the Minnesota game myself. I don’t think most people have a great deal of intent behind it

They used 23 players last night, everything so far has been about building fitness of players rather than putting his first eleven together.... that starts from now on as hopefully the hard graft of building fitness is largely complete.

Of course last night was disappointing but maybe more was learned from that than there would have been from a win.

The only thing we learned from last night is what we already know. The squad isn’t good enough and without signings in crucial areas this team is in for another relegation fight.

I used to think that, but then look where our underachieving managers of the past have ended up. He'll be fine, regardless of his tenure. The club however, will not.

We're going to drop like a sinking stone, regardless of who's in charge. I can't understand how the board saw last season and haven't acted swiftly. We've known that Richy was going to go for years, we've known that Rondon is the back up striker etc etc. Yet no plan? I'm terrified.

None of them got us relegated though and had far more managerial achievements that FL before becoming Everton manager.

I am biased as I didn't want him to begin with. But I don't want us realizing he's not the man for the job before it's too late.

I really hope I'm wrong and it all works out, but I'd be stunned if he's still our manager after the world cup break. Looking forward to the Sean Dyche thread.

We should ditch this fraud and bring in Nunes esperito. We started our strongest starting 11 against an American garbage team this is unacceptable.
