He really looked shell shocked especially the one where he was sat inside looking down a dodgy webcam feed. If you haven’t seen it then it was on beanyman sports on YouTube or something.

It really looked like the size of the job had dawned on him
Yeah I don't think anyone could be fully prepared for how daunting the task is before him, has to be dispiriting to preside over that performance yesterday. Especially when your professional reputation is on the line

What concerns me is that he couldn’t sort the Chelsea defence out with the quality they have. The Chelsea fans liked the attacking football he played but they were defensively frail, especially from set pieces. Playing attacking football here with our defence & midfield is asking for trouble. Really think we’d have been better with an interim manager until the end of the season. Defensive football, given our predicament, with the attackers we have will see us pick enough points up. I worry we’re gonna be too open, cranking up the pressure each coming week & a tricky run of games to come. I genuinely fear for us now.

I know mate, defensive football all the way it should be shouldn't it.

Just like that defensive togger under Benitez worked an absolute treat, we should have continued with that kind of defensive set up shouldn't we.

Right way to play football but the wrong players to do it. Think fully fit forward line and midfield with douncs, Van beek and Allan is fine. It’s just defence is shocking and all are attacks have to start with them. I don’t think any one of our defenders are comfortable with the ball at their feet. It’s only been a week so there are still working on it. At times yesterday, the midfield and forwards wasn’t creating passing angles for the defenders. Prime example being holgate for their first goal. Had no pass so took too much time on the ball then was pressed into a mistake. Which led to corner then a goal. Frustrates me as what happened to just cleaning your line, move up the pitch and reset. That goal would of been avoided. I have said it time and time again with the players at this club for years, they have no idea of game management.

Lampard's Chelsea reminded me of a Martinez team, except he at least has the decency to not stand there with a grin on his face after a comprehensive defeat, or to call a 0-0 draw a victory without goals.

I think his only option here is to treat attack as the best form of defence. He doesn't know how to organise a backline, and we don't have the sort of competent professionals that can organise between themselves.

We are a team filled with players that people make excuses for. If only he wasn't so young, if only we played him in a different position, if only he wasn't so injured, he needs more time to fit in at the club...

The problem is that most of them just aren't good enough. We need to face up to the fact they've been so bad for so long that they could take us down regardless of what the manager does now. It's terrifying that if anything we've overrated our squad.

Chelsea have always been solid at the back. In the three seasons prior to Lampard they averaged 36 goals conceded per season in the League.

Lampard changed from a back five to a back four and sidelined the likes of Azpilicueta, Alonso and even Rudiger. They then conceded 54 goals in the League, losing 12 games in the process. That is the most goals Chelsea have conceded since 97-98. It wasn't any better in Europe where they conceded 4 at home to Ajax and lost in the round of 16 by scorelines of 3-0 and 4-1 to Bayern.

The frightening part though is that we are managed by a manager who didn't rate Jorginho and barely played him. Jorginho and Rudiger are two of the best players in the League in their respective positions but Lampard didn't rate either of them.
