First season Koeman we were decent as he got the fitness and motivation levels of the Martinez squad up by and large. It all went wrong season two after the cumulation of a lot of strange signings and losing Lukaku and Barkley. Oh, and that he was a total whopper who lost the squad.Wouldn’t take much to go back through the match threads after Southampton Burnley Brighton etc. it was all about how we’d never looked so mobile upfront, how the front four were all clicking, how we’d come from behind more times in a few games than any other time.
We thought we were winning the league under Ancelotti after a few games.
We looked very mobile aggressive and solid under Koeman after a few games.
You can keep pushing how much better everything is than when Benitez was here, but we’ve seen numerous false dawns with these players. If they’re doing this (or better) in 12 months then I’ll know the corner has been turned, if we’re in a relegation battle in November next season though then we’ll be looking back going ‘remember how good the Brentford and Leeds games were’
From there we've brought a frankenstein patchwork of players. As for Fraangy Lamps, only time will tell if he maintains any type of consistency of performance from this lot.
We are slowly evolving the squad though, by the summer I'd like to hope loads of the deadbeats are gone.
