Not sure how we set up against Southampton truth be told. People will say don't change a winning team but think we'll we'd that extra man in midfield away from home.

Then there's other questions like does Mykolenko slot straight back in over Kenny at LB? Iwobi had probably his best game for us against Leeds so would it be too harsh to drop him for Gray / a 3rd CM?

Oh the joy of having competition for places to keep players on their toes…..

I think Kenny absolutely keeps his place even if Mykolenko is fit. Kenny's place to lose at the moment.

Gray will need to come back slowly if we want to keep him fit until end of the season, so I think that gives Iwobi a chance to prove again if he's up to it. Start Iwobi against Southampton and give Gray 30 minutes if he's almost up to speed in training.

It would be lovely if, despite our injuries, the form of Kenny and Iwobi genuinely gave Lampard a selection headache. I'd written them off yonks ago, as most people probably did. But let's remember it's only one game, and that aside they've been poor, especially Iwobi who has been woeful.

So, same team against Southampton and tell them to get at them as we did versus Leeds. No reason to think they'll lack the energy as they will have had a full week of training behind them.

Yeah that's probably fair.

I think Kenny, QPR in the cup apart, has performed well this season. Was arguing for him to start over Coleman since the Chelsea game.

It goes against my gut feeling, but as far as Iwobi is concerned, I'd start him again vs. Southampton. I'm assuming the lad actually wants to play and do well. Unless it's on tactical grounds, then the message to everyone is that if you perform, you keep your place, all other things equal.

I don't actually expect much at all of him, and he can't like any other player be a passenger, but I'd like if nothing else to see if something approaching a functional level of performance can be coaxed out of him by Lampard.

I think he has given himself every chance of success by bringing in such an experienced and winning backroom team, he's played a blinder there so it's up to him to put it together early signs are ok but if we can keep our home form simmering away like against Leeds we'll be ok in my opinion.

If we can iron out mistakes and pick up a few away points as well bonus. I am expecting an upturn in form from these players now they've got good coaches in situ and a young manager who wants to play fast aggressive football which is music to my ears.

It won't be a magic wand scenario I fully expect us to lose a few games yet but I think we will survive and next season should hopefully see a marked improvement right across the club.
