It’s easy ‘relatively speaking’ to play the style Lampard wants at home to Brentford in a cup game with no pressure - and one that Brentford probably didn’t care too much about losing.

Totally different ball game trying to do that tonight in a relegation scrap away against Newcastle.

The amount of times we gave the ball away was proof that the players can’t do it under pressure. We Got a gift of a goal and all they had to do was be sensible and take the sting out of the crowd up to half time…and Holgate plays a silly ball and gomes doesn’t even attempt to mark at a corner.

Newcastle looked such a better team with players like wood , joelinton, st maximim giving everything. Hell even lascelles who is utter dross has twice the mentality of Michael Keane.

Lampard has to go with his best eleven in a 433 for me and just hope that we win enough games. Coleman can’t be starting games anymore - he offers zilch going forward and isn’t that much of a defensive asset.

If Lampard does a decent job here I can see the FA targeting him to replace Southgate. Who knows if he would take the England job if offered it though

No question. Mina was bossing it in defence prior and also Gray was slicing them open with his pace.

These players are almost unchangeable. They are terrible. Worst set of Everton players I have ever seen. I’m not calling for lampard to go now, regardless of what happens we need to give him time to grow.

im just saying, if we wanted a manager who is more likely to keep us up, imho lampard wasn’t that guy, the guy is a baby and still has to learn how to coach, how to set up a defence etc

he now has to learn this during a relegation fight.

Yeah good point. Im sure I’ve read stories about Southgate wanting to get back into club management though. If so, you would expect Lampard, Rooney etc linked as replacements.

I can't stand Lineker cost the title - always talks about his Spurs & Leicester hardly mentions he ever played for us to get his dream move then never came back to us when we asked him to ....

Lineker didn't cost us the title, The Derby game we lost early in the season when we were still trying to fit a team around him and the resultant average form did.

But the opportunities aren’t going to come so quickly because of the way Chelsea finished. Let’s face it moyes and Rogers are probably more deserving of a big six position than lampard at present. There are a few sides that probably won’t look at him as well. Any other premier league side is only a sideways move.
He’ll need to get us in to Europe and then perform with some nous before anyone considers him again For a champions league role. If he does that it’s happy days

Southgate will definitely be with England till 2024 at least. I think he'll even survive a bad world cup because of what he's achieved in the last 2 tournaments. Lampard would absolutely accept the England job if offered though IMO.
