Not saying your wrong. One thing Lampard has over Silva, Koeman, Allardyce, Ancelotti, and Benitez, is that he genuinely looks happy to be here. Martinez was, but His style wasn't suited to Goodison. Whereas Lampard seems to get it. Not since Moyes has it been like that.
I think Silva was happy to be here but he just doesn't have the same type of energetic personality. But I feel managers need that. You can't get maximum effort out of your players if you're not bringing a lot of energy yourself.
Derby scraped into the play-offs on the last day and finished 6th, 20 points behind Norwich. They would not have even made it in to the play-offs if Bristol City hadn't fallen apart winning only one of their last 5 games. Derby then faced a Leeds side who had a similar collapse. Taking only one point from their last four games and who were in terrible form.
At Chelsea he inherited an excellent defence that was averaging mid-thirty League goals per season. He dismantled the five at the back, dropped the likes of Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen and Alonso. Not only that he changed from a solid five to a wide open back four. Dropping Rudiger and replacing him with Zouma was bizarre. They went from conceding mid-thirties to mid-fifties in terms of League goals conceded.
Then we come to his Champions League record, I would hardly call losing 7-1 on aggregate in the round of 16 impressive. The bit I don't get is expecting him to be bold and innovative. His tactics are woefully outdated. Teams now look to press high up the pitch. Lampard's answer is to knock it around at the back to give them as much opportunity to win the ball as possible.
Before and after Lampard's tenure Jorginho was the most influential player in Chelsea's team. Week in week out, Jorginho was getting the most touches and was starting attacks. Lampard dropped him and looked to knock it around at the back with Thiago Silva then becoming the dominant player in possesion.
Lampard gets sacked and Jorginho is on the shortlist for the Ballon D'or. Lampard got the Derby job because his uncle Harry was a consultant at Derby. He then gets the Chelsea job after finishing 6th with Derby because rightly so he is a playing legend at Chelsea.
Lampard has done nothing as a manager to even show he is good enough for a job in the Championship, never mind managing a giant like Everton. Far from being a serial winner as a manager, he has won nothing. Benitez was a terrible appointment but Lampard has the potential to be far worse.

I'd still worry that if an opportunity came along he'd jump ship pretty swiftly. No loyalty these days.I like the way he has included the whole squad so far off the bench. Rondon, el ghazi getting game time despite looking out of their depth earlier. Same for iwobe.
Everyone knows they have a chance to rebuild their career now and everyone looks up for it.
The Newcastle game Was a loss but Newcastle were flying, the atmosphere was something else. It was the the kind of night where Newcastle could have beat a top four side.
We have had false dawns before but I finally feel that we have a manager that knows this the club that he can build his reputation and is here for a long time. Every other manager I felt was treating us as a short term stepping stone, or was not up to scratch.
Is this sarcasm? He talks about playing for Everton all the timeI can't stand Lineker cost the title - always talks about his Spurs & Leicester hardly mentions he ever played for us to get his dream move then never came back to us when we asked him to ....
You have just hit the nail on the head mate.If what we did against Brentford and Leeds can become the standard level and style of play we're going to have a lot of fun.
And that we were talking he best team he played in!Is this sarcasm? He talks about playing for Everton all the time
If we thought like that we would never sign anyone.I'd still worry that if an opportunity came along he'd jump ship pretty swiftly. No loyalty these days.
If an opportunity comes along, it's because he's done a great job at Everton.I'd still worry that if an opportunity came along he'd jump ship pretty swiftly. No loyalty these days.
