I think most of us knew the majority of our issues were midfield related
It’s been very poor for years
The midfield looked very good at the weekend with Van Beek and Allan. Maybe they are suited?
Time will tell. Hopefully our tactics will be spot on at the weekend against a very good Southampton team.

But the opportunities aren’t going to come so quickly because of the way Chelsea finished. Let’s face it moyes and Rogers are probably more deserving of a big six position than lampard at present. There are a few sides that probably won’t look at him as well. Any other premier league side is only a sideways move.
He’ll need to get us in to Europe and then perform with some nous before anyone considers him again For a champions league role. If he does that it’s happy days
Absolutely. I’d say if he does a very good job here he will at least see out his contract. I’d imagine Roman wouldn’t consider him again unless he’s won trophies and/or gotten us into Europe. If Lampard leaves the club in a good state and on the up then the job becomes more attractive to good managers. The last few appointments have been made when we were in crisis and let’s be honest we only got Ancelotti because we threw a lot of money at him.

You also have to factor in that Chelsea is generally a short term job for managers. If they don’t win consistently then they are out. If Lampard is excelling here and has the right backing financially plus the new stadium then I’d say it wouldn’t be cut and dried that he would want to take the job. Anyway it’s far too early to worry about that.

Just like newcastle this is where lampard will learn a few things. Usually after getting all the plaudits for a good performance a lot of this mob put their feet up thinking we've done our bit for the month.
More than anything i'd like to see that stamped out.

Southampton will be a big test. Needs to take a point at least. Home form will be the backbone of avoiding relegation or getting too close for comfort, but we will also drop points at home perhaps in circumstances where we might expect a win. Our away form is an issue anyway, but he needs to set us up in such a way that we can take points on the road here and there to ease the pressure a bit.

again..... similar to the newcastle game and the Brentford one before it - a few players have done themselves no favours.

sounds a bit crazy right? well lets put it this way - if you know the difference between very good and very bad is "effort", then it brings the spotlight on the fact that the issue within the club has been "mainly" the attitude of the players.

yes we have had lack lustre managers blah blah blah - but many of the players have short changed us big time and lampard will and should have his knives sharpened.

Duncan was on the back seat at the match - I love Dunc but I love Naismith, doesn't mean we should have kept him. Sadly as hard as ferguson is as a scrapper and on the pitch, he is too nice and too close to the players. They are too comfortable with him.

I think the main thing is he’s brought a more positive mood and given confidence to the group.

We know a lot of these players have failed under multiple managers and need moved on if we want to get towards the top end of the table and regularly into Europe.

That said, while we do still have this group at the club all the more reason a manager needs the whole squad to buy into the game plan, create a positive mood. Benitez was a mood hoover, killed any positive vibes, the players were on the floor, didn’t believe in his game plan, killed whatever morale was there and that added to a limited group of players was a really worrying mix.

If Frank can lift the cloud that Benitez left hanging over the players that’ll go a long way to see results and performances improve. We can then get to the summer and begin the process of changing the personnel in the squad. That’s the big picture and happier with Lamps doing that than I was with the prospect of Benitez.

An opportunity where? Chelsea have already rejected him. No chance he would be accepted by the fans of other London clubs apart from West Ham, and they seem pretty Happy with Moysie.

West Ham fans really dislike Frank so no way would he be accepted there. He used to get tons of stick whenever he played against them and when he got the job here many of them were busy slagging him off on social media hoping he took us down etc.

I think that is evaporating now and good riddance to the FSW.

These players are almost unchangeable. They are terrible. Worst set of Everton players I have ever seen. I’m not calling for lampard to go now, regardless of what happens we need to give him time to grow.

im just saying, if we wanted a manager who is more likely to keep us up, imho lampard wasn’t that guy, the guy is a baby and still has to learn how to coach, how to set up a defence etc

he now has to learn this during a relegation fight.

If Lampard does a decent job here I can see the FA targeting him to replace Southgate. Who knows if he would take the England job if offered it though
International football is generally a managerial wasteland where those that are too old or need to prove themselves go.

If he is being lined up for the England job then he will have failed here.
