We support Everton, it doesn’t mean we should also blindly support the most obnoxious and poorest managerial appointment I’ve ever seen at this club. If it hadn’t been for genuine Evertonians protesting at the man you adored we’d certainly be on the road to nowhere now.

Your idolisation of a man managing a period of shame & your continued criticism of proper Evertonians makes me wonder which team you truly support.

he's a very odd man.

he was on here the other week wishing the club would put the ticket prices up so most of the fans couldnt go the game.

Take it on face value and it suggests inadequacy on the part of Ancelotti and Benitez's regimes. There were a number of us who were positive about Benitez seemingly upping the intensity of training, but based on this that wasn't enough. Which also points the finger at Ancelotti too.

Let's hope this more intense possession based approach continues to pay dividend.

Tbf to Carlo, I get the impression that he wanted top 4 last season. I reckon he felt that with the way the squad was half way through the season, that defensive was the way to get it. I can understand that, because I don't think we had the squad to play our way 'prettily' into a top 4 spot.

Benitez, however, wanted to bore us all to death whilst only aiming for top half.

As it was, Carlo's plan didn't work, but if he was only aiming for tenth, then I reckon he would have let us off the leash, knowing that for every couple of hammerings we took, we;d probably hand one out.

I don't doubt Frank's approach or choices at all. He has seen how it's done for two decades.... He has seen what works and what didn't.

Thing is, two CL winning managers can't be wrong. The squad let us down against Newcastle. No structure, no fight, no system.

This squad is done and I know they will disappoint our manager again (and get him the sack) if there is no major investment next summer. Even if we go on a 10 game winning streak or win the fa cup, we can't afford not to reinvest next season.

If he gets us safe he should be able to get his players in. Only then we can judge.

Two experienced managers cant be wrong, but they can be a bad fit though.

That's more Benitez than Ancelotti though, who did a far better job than Benitez.
 

Got no idea why this popped into my head earlier. But anyone know if he has bought his family up here? I know his wife was at the game the other day, and no idea what their children status is, just a musing really.

Carlo was let down as well in the end. Hes doing great with the primadonnas at Madrid so he's still on top of his game... Probably the greatest man-manager the game has seen.
I suspect he showed us exactly what our squad is worth (at best).

I'm hating how some players suddenly remember how to play basic football. I don't want Frank to think they can be trusted. They can't.

…nice that his missus was at Goodison for the Leeds game. I understand they have a couple of kids but I’m not sure if they are at an age where they are settled in schools. I think his wife‘s work is London based so i dare say there’s lots to sort out before the big decisions are made.
