2021/22 Frank Lampard

The biggest error was not allowing him the chance to see how he utilised his new signings. Instead we [Poor language removed] the bed as usual.

We all talk about the project and giving managers time and admitting that it will take a couple of seasons to sort the mess out and then we head further down the spiral.

Pipe down you child

3 more months to go and we'll see your best mate scrambling for a job of a championship club

If he's lucky

OK, so statistically he's had the worst start in our history (league) but anyone who saw the games will see more and can appreciate that;

We've now played 4 home games, won 3 and lost the other to City when a draw was the least we deserved
3 of our 5 games have been away, for some reason the players are Jekyll and Hyde in terms of where we play. Yes we've been poor away but have you ever known a manager to be good at home and poor away, something else going on here.

Frank has not, as yet, managed to properly get inside the heads of those players, god knows what goes inside their heads because we can go from very good to very poor from game to game.

HOME Played 4-- 9 goals for, 2 goals against
AWAY Played 3-- 1 goal for, 10 against

Faie enough but Lampard tactics against Spurs is concerning.
True, they were, I said that in the match thread, he and the players had a collective nightmare, but. I hope, and believe he will learn from it. Playing high against the best counter attacking side in the division was folly and we paid the price. That said, the amount of stupid unforced errors and lack of fight from the players, was something you could not have allowed for.

One small criticism I'd like to make is that Frank keeps on saying these games aren't must win. As that's clearly not working I'd like to try something else and say they are must win - if they ever want to see their families again. :hayee:
I hear you but I think that is to take pressure off the players. Two home games coming up and realistically we need at least 4 points. Im not sure we will hear him say that, but sure as eggs are eggs he will know it.

And while Im posting, as bad as the current situation is it would be 100 times worse if Frank decided to k'off because this is in the too hard to do basket.

I don't think any of it is for the benefit of the players at all, its all about us. He has 6 days a week to tell the players whatever he needs to get them right for the games, he has 15 minutes to address us. Whatever he says in those press conferences could be the complete opposite of what is said in the dressing room. I doubt if Lampard told a player that it was must win in every session and analysis meeting leading up to a game, their mind would be shifted by a press conference saying something slightly different.

What he cant have is a crowd that will turn in an instant. Its all about positive application. Give all you have for 90 mins, and if it doesn't happen, we need you there the week after. Imo its a tactic to prevent the crowd being so reactionary, negatively.

I was gonna criticise it before releasing he’s doing what I do on this website and that one too, so can’t be that hypocritical really.

"Rafael Benítez, a man so closely associated with arch-rivals Liverpool that his every cough, hiccup or wipe of his glasses was greeted with “blue nose” cynicism."

Is right luv, deffo nothing to do with his 1 win in 15 games.
