We can’t afford to go down though, and we can’t afford to give him time to learn on the job. He was never experienced enough for the position we found ourselves in. I would have loved him next season, to build on something etc

But it was a terrible choice of management for relegation battle. All probably too late now though.

I think sticking with him is the right option next year regardless what happens. Either way, he needs to be allowed to gut this squad.

I'm sticking with him regardless of what happens. He has no chance with the lack of commitment from this squad. It's not him, or Edwards, or Clement, or Cole who are bottling challenges and allowing free headers.

I'm fed up with these players. They should be called out publicly every single week until they grow some backbone.
Really has turned into a terrible business football. Managers have to tip toe around players or face upset and revolt and down tools and inevitably the sack, the player power these days is truly shocking

So many players just robbing a living on long term contracts

I would honestly vote for salary and signing fee caps, bonus caps and also contract length of 3 year caps too

We should stop paying them until they produce some sort of performance. Atrocious that they continue to get those salaries while producing zero.

I kind of think to myself, how do they not feel embarrassed taking home far more every week than we earn in a year. I would be mortified to earn that money and fail in my job as badly as that.

But then again, I am not an athlete nor a top flight footballer. I guess I will never understand the mentality of a PL footballer. I will continue to be embarrassed for them until I see commitment and effort on a regular basis.

Worst thing to ever happen was agents, sky and the premier league.

it went from clubs having all the power, to players. When in reality it needed to just have balance. No club makes money these days, ticket prices are sky high, tv prices are sky high, clubs are going bankrupt…all to feed into the pocket of players and agents.

As I said yesterday and it's been mentioned here today his interviews have gone from refreshing and very concise to the excuse ridden nonsense we've suffered for a few years now.

I knew before he came in the rumours were rife that he was great at going forward but lacking in defensive know how.
That bothered my a little but I foolishly thought with DCL, Richie,Gordon,Gray, Dele, Dobbin, Ellis etc he had the tools to at least get us scoring. We were not exactly short of what you'd hope were decent front men.

I also thought that with Mina, Keane,Holgate, Godfrey, Branthwaite he must surely find a partership there that works.

Neither have happened. As one of the best ever midfielders I was hopeful that would be his forte, and he'd devise a system that would at least hold its own in most games, jeez a 35 year old murdered them yesterday and bossed the game in such an easy way.

His stance is now, "I've not been here long, I inherited crap, we played ok today"

There was uproar at the thought of taking Moysie back, and Benitez got the job instead. I don't think we'd be in the position we're in now if he had returned and feel certain his signings would not have been in the DVB and Dele mold.

Early days yes and I'm behind Frank but at present he's failing badly, the fans get blamed, the players get blamed so he also has to carry the can too, very much so.

PMDS. We have had it for more than 20 years. Regular assessment of performance. How these lazy sick notes continue to get massive salaries despite horrendous performance defies belief.

I am still behind him and desperately want him to do well for us but there is no escaping the fact that he has done absolutely crap so far. Not all on him of course as I am not sure even the lord himself could get a tune out the most despicable group of players i have ever had to endure wearing an Everton shirt.

Please don't be the first Manager to take us down in the PL Frank. Get these tossers together and do whatever it takes to get some action and passion out of them.

Mate I am not embarrassed in the least for them. However I am seriously angry that they are taking this magnificent Club down.

I'd knee cap most of them.

What a crap thread. someone online jokes about sacking Lampard, and now that's somehow supposed to be representative of our fanbase You're making us look bad, and feel bad (badder)

Appointing Lampard to oversee a relegation fight was insane.. signing Ali for a relegation fight, also insane!
Lampard clearly hasn't got a clue what to do, in his interviews he seriously looks like a man halfway through a nervous breakdown, and that was before we played a game.
Good morning Kevin my man.

in retrospect, Lampard an astonishing choice. Not a manager who has shown any ability to cope with pressure. Managed to capitulate in the play-offs with a (it turns out illegally assembled in FFP terms) Derby squad that should have walked the league. Showed little at Chelsea. But because of his media mates from the "golden generation" has never been called out for a lack of any obvious managerial ability. Maybe because of his profile he can "attract talent" but there's not much point to that in a relegation dog-fight. Sounds brittle not brave in front of the cameras, who knows what he is like in the dressing room. Too late to change him, but looking back must have been so many better options, surely?

I think in retrospect this is an insane post.
