Must say we haven't got the press anywhere near being good. The first 20 minutes was good but as soon as a couple of players cease doing it then it becomes easy to get around and leaves some players out of the game giving more space and providing ease to cut through us. If we cannot do a collective press then we need to abandon it and sit deeper letting the other team to find the space rather than the giving of space
He mentioned the culture within the squad that needs to be address.
I believe it’s the culture of sickening lack of effort that is so entrenched and these bunch of players are creating an impossible environment for any manager to work with.

I really do not buy into the lack of effort myth personally.
These players are trying, they just are shot of confidence and bogged down by years of getting bummed weekly.
Yes its up to the manager to get them flying, but I personally dont think its an effort issue.

We've been here before anyway. I dont think ive ever seen carlo ancelotti annoyed as a manager. Mr cool as a cucumber. I saw it when we got battered away at wolves.
Can go on and on about selection. Formation blah blah blah.
These players have history of simply not having it. We've some how managed to assemble enough of them who are the epitomy of fragile and average.
If we stay up it will only be temporary unless there is a huge huge clear out.

This is the reason we struggled to win the ball against any opponent and we concede so many shots on goal. The only game we press as a team under Lampard was against Leeds.
Lampard clearly had a way to play, the players simply aren’t doing it.
