Aye - its like trying to put the roof on without so much as laying the foundations! Not so much in their personalities, more in their playing styles. Both are seen as more defensive managers who establish a solid base and then work from there. The Everton fan base just doesn’t seem to have patience for that any more. It wants a total football manager (until the goals start leaking in)
Support what? The guy is clueless.zzzzzzzzzz go away lad and support the manager
Mate, we simply haven't got players to produce anything like total football. Great at total collapse mind you.Not so much in their personalities, more in their playing styles. Both are seen as more defensive managers who establish a solid base and then work from there. The Everton fan base just doesn’t seem to have patience for that any more. I'd be amazed he had much to do with signings in January
Support what? The guy is clueless.
A Gucci Tim Sherwood.
"We deserved a point at least on an afternoon when a lot of things went against us. We showed character, discipline and created chances which isn't easy against West Ham. If we carry on in that vein, things will go in our favour and we'll be OK."
Discipline - 3rd red card on the bounce.
The excuses people make for Lampard on here are incredible. I don't know if it's because he's English or what. Regardless of how terrible this squad is, he was brought in to do a job, he knew the job, and he is currently failing massively.
The board were going to appoint Pereira before the fans intervened. Not saying that would have been the right choice either but it’s easy to say in hindsight that x or y was the right choice. Most fans wanted a young progressive manager. That’s who the board hired.
My view remains that we could have got Guardiola Fergie and Sacchi dream team in here and it still wouldn’t bring results as these players are completely useless.
Those sort of managers get you in a cycle you can never get out of. You play percentage anti football which has a very low ceiling and you haven't players capable or willing to play the football you need to kick on.
Its better to try to succeed and fail than settle for existence and plod along doing nothing for decades.
The previous managers and DOFs need to be asked why they did not undertake the overhaul of the squad weve needed. They put it off for years and this is the result.
De Beek was about to join Palace until Frank wanted him. Dele was last minute too
Here's the issue. What has Lampard done in his career to suggest he is the guy to rip apart a Premier League squad and institute a complete rebuild? Not only that, but it is a proven fact that gradual evolution of a squad results in better results than disastrous revolutions. Make what you have better and then add to it over time, like Moyes did.To add to my point, we maybe needed a dull negative manager in the short term. But long term it sets us back a long way and would mean we would be unable to move forward
We need to hope lampard gets us to 17th, then is allowed to totally overhaul the squad completely and without sentiment or interference.
It must really be hitting home now. From the outside you might think work to be done there. But once inside and he now see's what we've been seeing for so long he must be closing his front door when home thinking wtf have i done. This job is a full on clear out case. From defenders who cant defend to midfielders who dont have an ounce of guile to a centre forward who is more interested in not breaking a fingernail.
The jobs poison
Positional and tactical disclipline...
Thats a weird comment.
Its 100% on the players...
You can see what Lampard is trying to coach them to do...but the individual errors and refereeing is costing us.
Keep us up then rebuild the squad in the summer and we'll look a lot better next season.
The majority of the fans base wouid have turned on Sam. And we’d be as good as down before the first game, he also wouldn’t have cared one jot. And the abuse he got last time off the fans. Would still be fresh in his mind.I do. If Sam has the tools he can do the job. He would get this motley lot playing to a system to grind out the points.
Everybody was writing Moyes off as well due to his unfortunate experience at Sunderland, as if that illegitimaises years of top quality management.
