Completely agree but I just can’t buy all the ‘we should have got Allardyce’ shouts after the fact. This place would have melted down had we brought him in again.

Moshiri is on record saying he didn’t hire Moyes because the fans didn’t want him, same seems to have happened with Pereira. Despite the lessons learned from Martinez and Silva we still seemed to believe that a ‘progressive’ coach could have these players playing football.
I said at the time we should have gone for Sam.

And comparing Moyes to Pereira is rich. Moshiri was looking for an excuse not to hire Moyes over the advice of Bill and Brands. Moyes is a genuinely fine manager while Pereira is another guy touted by one of Mosh's dodgy mates. Moyes would not stand for Moshiri's crap, which probably is a major reason why he didn't want him back.

Those sort of managers get you in a cycle you can never get out of. You play percentage anti football which has a very low ceiling and you haven't players capable or willing to play the football you need to kick on.

Its better to try to succeed and fail than settle for existence and plod along doing nothing for decades.
I agree mate, but we just don't have the players. They are the worst I have ever seen in the RBJ. Remember the KitKat ad "you can't sing, can't play you look awful.....you'll go a long way".

These can't play, can't think and are bringing is noble Club down.

Sadly this crowd are just beyond belief. God help us.

In a way I think itr wasnt that bad, but for keane and esp making him captain. He has balls but no brains. Need to keep his instructions tight and easy. Also, DCL was atrocious. he made Iwobi look good. In fact, I liked iwobi at 10. The slip wasnt his fault perse, but Keane walking into spaces he shouldnt have.

Imo he really should try dele as focal point. Then figure out who can get next to godfrey. Mykolenko was also very good at LB.

The concern with Lampard is he doesn't really know what to do with this shower. High line at Spurs against Kane and Son and then at Palace. More defensive approach today (especially bringing Holgate in rather than Alli).

Literally got the fans to do the team talk before Newcastle and then the Goodison roar to win the game.

His inexperience is showing a bit.

Do you really think Sam keeps us up, he couldn’t keep West Brom up last season.

Most of the fans are behind him
and I still think the majority will be if we go down. These players and the board will get the abuse and rightly so if we go down.
I do. If Sam has the tools he can do the job. He would get this motley lot playing to a system to grind out the points.

Everybody was writing Moyes off as well due to his unfortunate experience at Sunderland, as if that illegitimaises years of top quality management.

To add to my point, we maybe needed a dull negative manager in the short term. But long term it sets us back a long way and would mean we would be unable to move forward

We need to hope lampard gets us to 17th, then is allowed to totally overhaul the squad completely and without sentiment or interference.

I accept the shouts that hes not the right manager, or the best manager for right now. But he's the right manager for the future, and I have no doubt of that. We need to somehow get through this and then plan for the future without these embarassing, gutless players who couldn't care less about moving the club forward.

Not so much in their personalities, more in their playing styles. Both are seen as more defensive managers who establish a solid base and then work from there. The Everton fan base just doesn’t seem to have patience for that any more. It wants a total football manager (until the goals start leaking in)

See, that's the thing I don't get. Lampard has no record to suggest he is a good manager. If we are going for a young manager I would much prefer someone like Nathan Jones, who has proven he can build a side and who has come up through the leagues. He had a bad period at Stoke, but has bounced back wonderfully,.
