2021/22 Frank Lampard

Laughable people calling for his head already. We can't keep changing managers, at some point we have to have some faith to let someone build their own side. This summer will be huge but depends which division we are in. The thing with these modern footballers is they'll simply get on the phone to their agents and say get me back in the premier league. They don't care like we do, or players past did. Far too much money to care.
It is laughable yes, but if we lose at Burnley, and keep losing, do you think Moshiri would just sit back and do nothing? I’m not sure.

I'd say Moshiri has more important worries right now, but in normal Mad Mosh circumstances I'd say he'd bin Lampard if we lost at Burnley and home to United and have a last, desperate, futile throw of the dice. But by now it really is largely pointless. He's made his decision to appoint a novice manager. Some of us had grave doubts about it, but the fans, in general, get what the fans want and we have Frank.

Let's hope he has something - anything - about him to scrape us to survival.

We've had to look at lampard score some very important goals against us. Most notable beating us in an fa cup final. And a few games in the league when we where pushing for Europe.

Be mad if he goes and takes us down. By all means we should hate his guts.

I still back him - up to a point. The next few games will prove what is what though.

Lose in a big way to Burnley and it gives them impetous for their run in. Burnley has 4 winnable games and a few good for a draw. They can overtake us if they win. We can lose but then need a result vs man u, and a few draws. That is highly contested with our further program.

Im not sure if moshiri will keep on if the next 2 games prove to be big disasters. We need to give burnley a crushing, and at least a draw vs man u, with a good display. If one or both of them beat us in convincing way, then i dont think lamp will survive.

Wich would be sad. Even if we go down, it would be good for us and for lampard to build some stamina in the championship and then get back up.

Basic individual errors are the biggest problem and have been all season. No matter who we put in defence they keep happenning. No matter who we put in midfield to protect them, the mistakes keep happenning.

The simple fact is that these players are either nowhere near good enough, lack commitment, lack bottle, or a combination of all of these factors.

And it's also now fair to start questioning the front players as well as the defenders. We had enough chances to score more goals yesterday, and they barely hit the target nevermind score. The lack of quality from the front men yesterday was abysmal. They should be embarrassed by that calibre of performance.

What does a manager do with defenders who can't go 45 minutes without a crazy error, and forwards who show less composure in front of goal than you'd expect from a centre half? The only solution is to clear out 80% or more of this gutless, inept squad and start from scratch. But you can't do that mid season, and not when you appoint a manager with 8 hours to go in a transfer window.

They’ve been awful for months now

I have some sympathy for Lampard. I had lots for Benitez too (until he started selling our best players and persisting with Iwobi, Holgate, and Gomes). But Frank wasn't hired to take us down. He was hired to improve on the Senor's results - which had deteriorated to the point of abysmal. Instead, we've gotten worse. If we go down, I very much doubt he'll stay in the job. It's not impossible that the Shah rids himself of Frank before the end of this season if the death spiral gets more spirally, but if Frank stays in the job after we drop, I would see that not as an act of faith from Farhad, but a total lack of interest in what subsequently happens to the club.

Lampard wasn't hired to relegate us. His shiny, glamorous visage will look a lot more scratched if he oversees a first relegation since the Mesozoic era. His credibility will be shredded. I suspect a mutual parting of the ways at that point and a life-changing opportunity for...ooh, David "Unsy" Unsworth in our new constrained financial circumstances.

The fans have to partly take responsibilty for forcing through Lampard as manager against Moshiri's wishing.
I dont think so. The other options were bigger clowns, PR disasters without or little or no pm experience. Its lamps, or saint allardici comes in, and we dont wish that upon our biggest enemy.

I'm not at all happy with him today.

So suddenly Patterson was set for his debut, was he? Why not earlier, since anybody who has played right back since January has been absolutely atrocious and damaging to us staying in this division. Perhaps if he'd have had more minutes on the pitch he wouldn't have got injured in training as he'd have been sharper and up to speed.

Michael Keane captain? Inexcusable. One last roll of the dice in a desperate attempt to kickstart Keane into action? "I've given you the armband today so go and show those fans that you're worthy of it". Obviously it backfired spectacularly as not only did our captain play a crucial part in our second goal conceded, but he went and got himself sent off as well.

Jonjoe Kenny. Really? We have Branthwaite on the bench, which by itself renders Kenny not needed. We have Godfrey and Holgate available (van de Beek was injured after the starting xi was named), so why isn't one of them playing right back and the other alongside Branthwaite in the middle? Even if van de Beek remains injured, there is still no need for Kenny, even with Keane suspended. Holgate, Brathwaite Godfrey Mykolenko, or Coleman if he's fit again to replace hopefully Holgate.

He's done much worse than I expected, has Lampard, and I am bitterly disappointed with his decision-making. Should have known it was all hot air (the 'got the bollocks' talk post Palace) and that he wasn't going to drop his favourites despite having better options.
