Sheffield United sacked Wilder and hired Heckingbottom before the end of their relegation season. He didn't make a difference to them getting relegated, but he got them organised and stable and back in the playoff positions this season with a chance of going back up. Perhaps we should start planning for next season rather than deluding ourselves that (a) Frank can turn it around; (b) that he would want to stay and manage us if we went down; and (c) if he did he would do anywhere near a good job.

That is a mental suggestion.

I think you can nit pick certain things but generally I think the set up today was right. All three goals we've been opened up by defenders doing extremely dumb things. The positioning is fine. Save for a few moments we kept it mostly tight. Burnley did what Burnley do and we mostly responded.

The other thing is we created lots of space going at them. He has to get the decision making in the final third in order but that is going to take a lot of time.

I don't want to act like he's brilliant or anything but we're such a mess that to some extent I don't know what he's meant to do.

He can’t score chances, he can’t block crosses, he can’t stop players giving the ball away in midfield

Literally what do people expect him to do. Criticise his subs yes but we’ve been in positions to win multiple points since he’s been here and the players have thrown them away.

This isn't Norwich, we cant just accept matters like this and prepare for the Championship.

It'd be a a slim chance to turn this around, but it has to be taken.

I know how flakey all this sounds, but FFS it's the club and my loyalty is to that not the man in the dugout. He just hasn't played defensively savvy enough.

Do you see a new manager saving us?? I don't even know who we would bring in and I don't know how that man saves us.

Sadly out of his depth, naive to keep doing the same things and expecting different results. The problems run deeper than Frank but for us to expect a manager with his experience to turn us in to world beaters is naivety on our part.

He needed to go back to basics, and if needs be win ugly be difficult to beat and physical, might not have been pretty but would have kept us up.

Right now we are so soft at the back, and I don't see him fixing that.

I find myself despairing at us never looking to defend out a game. Naivety is a good word. A point from West Ham and Burnley each would have been good.

It's all conjecture, some will say we couldn't do defensive under Benitez etc. Either way, this is horrible to watch unfold. We look doomed.

We have/had to think more forwards than that though. In January it wasn't enough to just stay up - we had to stay up and go forwards which Nuno just doesn't really seem like the type outside of steamrolling the Championship with a load of Portuguese connections.
