2021/22 Frank Lampard

It’s the only time they can make the change with a break before the business end.

Will it make a difference? Doubtful. But I don’t doubt Moshiri will make the call.
I doubt it'll make a blind bit of difference. But we have to see if it works.

I dont think Lampard is the cause of our problems, but he certainly isn't the solution to them. Losing 4 points from two games where we just had to get behind the ball and defend what we had in the last 4 days underlined that for me.

Yep. The problems are obviously not down to him.

But right now it’s solely about avoiding relegation. If there’s any chance a change will make a difference then it has to be done.

These players cant do that. They can't even clear their lines properly.

10 points needed from 9 games. That takes us to 35 points;

In the last 5, the following total prevented relegation; 2020/21 - 29 points 2019/20 - 35 points 2018/19 - 35 points 2017/18 - 34 points 2016/17 - 35 points

After losing 7 in 9 league games, including some proper good spankings - it's hard to find the belief that Lampard gets us those points.

New manager bounce with this horrible set of players?..... Maybe.

If Moshiri feels that way, if he/DOF/Board thinks a change might give us a better chance, he'll change it. Especially given Lampard was never their preferred choice - I mean, a Martinez job share was before him!

I was mocked a bit on here for saying Lampard wouldn't be the manager to relegate us because they'd make the change first - I said if we lose Burnley, Man Utd and Leicester - making it 9 league defeats in 11 and we're sat in the bottom 3, panic alone will mean Lampard is gone.

It's nothing to do with the last 5 years. It's not about apportioning blame - it's about whatever helps Everton avoid relegation.

I want Lampard to manage us next season but those at the club, close to the players and manager have a massive decision to make on whether he could be right man/wrong time.

"We can't keep sacking managers" is a nonsense shout at this stage, a nonsense shout give Benitez too long.

We can't keep a manager who isn't right, particularly in a relegation fight.

Whether he's right or not I don't know - but results are all that matter.
Spot on. The only thing that matters now is doing whatever it takes to try and stay in the PL. The rest of the problems can be worried about afterwards. Everton have got to do whatever it takes and if that means sacking Lampard then so be it. I wanted him to have next season so he could have a proper untainted go at it but nothing is more important than staying in the PL. They cannot just sit back doing nothing and watch us lose every game and get relegated.

There's no good solution, but sticking with the manager come what may, and making sure these players are held accountable come what may, is the least bad option in my mind.

I don't see any new manager getting more out of these players. If they can't be arsed now, then why would they be arsed with a caretaker here for 6 or 7 games, or any other new appointment. The idea of them getting another chance to try and fool another manager makes me feel a bit sick.
Agree 100% I’d rather go down and I’m not joking if it means these players and board for that matter are gone.
Than survive and have to watch then
Again next season

And bring who in? Let the players manage themselves?

It'll be madness.
Would he go back to Allardyce?

Allardyce himself would love all that hero worship.

It’s an atrocious thought that we’d go back to him - but if he sacks Lampard then it can only be someone like Allardyce or he goes with Ferguson (which is pointless). No one with any sense would want to come into this mess.

The defence cant do it on their own. But we showed against City that when we get two lines behind the ball we can stop teams scoring.
Well we didn’t stop them. And that’s a one off We’ve also seen how this team can’t stand 10mins of pressure, a lot more than the other

I don't see it myself but we have crackpot people at the top who thinks that's the solution, you're right though its all about survival and if they did fire him I'm almost certain Ferguson gets the gig until the end.

*Shudders at the fact we are having this conversation

PS: Can the #27 campaign start to try and run these shower of pricks running this club.
They need to be loud and hostile with their focus on the board.

This should be done after the final whistle of every game at home win lose or draw.

If he can’t get a win on Saturday we will likely be in the bottom three. At that point then we have to try someone else, whoever that might be. We can’t go down with a whimper which is the ways it’s going.

The board are done for whatever happens at the end of the season

...against a team like that we conceded a very freakish goal.

Against any other team we'd have held out. That's the point.

Lampard was the right choice and the wrong choice at the same time. We know that now.

Don’t even need to park the bus, just shithouse effectively for 45mins like Wolves do when they have a lead. Break up play, waste time. We’re in a war not having a picnic
Our players are the wrong type of shithouses mate, they are clueless, cowardly and far too nice.
