2021/22 Frank Lampard

Ha ha, hasn't that basically been Frank's mantra all along?

Blame the fella before me.

What have we to gain? Ooh, I'd say a sliver of hope - because with Frank we have none. The jig is up. It's really only a question of whether we accept our fate under this failed manager, or take one last desperate punt on the off-chance somebody else can get some kind of bounce.

I've accepted after last night that we will be relegated. People say the fans have to get behind the side, but it's hopeless under Frank. Time for us to write it all off now and mentally distance ourselves from this trauma. But a bit of hope could spark those of us who have been taken for a ride for too long and now have enough of guff like "keep the faith" when it is as clear as day that the PR con man currently in situ is a clueless chancer.

What have we got to gain? A tiny sliver of hope. It might be all we can now muster.

I think a lot of fans will turn if we lose against Utd even if by some miracle Leeds and Norwich take points off Watford/Burnley.

I see Victor Anichebe is in the media sounding the Big Sam Klaxon - what do you make of that mate?

What does it matter who is held accountable and held accountable by whom? What sort of prehistoric suggestion is this. If we go down it would be devastating for the club both morally and financially.

The only thing that matters is staying up and Frank is taking us down. Its pretty obvious. Look at the stats, the results. It's worse than benitez with better players available. He simply has to go and be replaced by a practical manager who will give us a chance. Sam seems the best option because he's proven and he's worked at the club before so it won't take him too long to transition in.
It matters a great deal because if we sack Lampard then the players get away with murder yet again because it’ll be yet another free pass to sucker the next manager into thinking they’re actually useful

I see it as the sad desperate cry for help that it is.

But that's where we are now - in more dire straits than Mark Knopfler.

I don't think anybody can keep us up now - but whatever glimmer we have depends on getting somebody vaguely competent in to manage. Frank isn't working. Nobody else might get a tune - but we won't know if we don't try. I don't think it's impossible to get 10 points from the remaining games. But I think it is impossible under Frank. I doubt Big Sam would have accused the players of lacking balls in public - but I am certain he would have done that in private. And he's a far more accomplished manager than Lampard. But then, most managers are.

The players are finished. They have failed and been utterly exposed. The only question is can we get something out of them before they leave or are punted. No new manager is building around more than a small handful of this rabble.

It’s all ifs buts and maybes if my auntie had you know what

Yes he stated quite poorly away, but the last 2 when he’s basically had one midfielder to chose from weve gone to a team
In the mix for champions league and arguably been the better team. But a mistake,
Some bad luck and crazy challenge ended our hopes in 5 minutes.

And last night we should have won,
Will a new manager cut out them mistakes? . The players are crap and been rocked of confidence. I really don’t see anyone making a difference. Interesting who you’d actually try and get.

Getting another Manager now, we may as well change our name to Watford

Are the ones who wanted us to blame the players under Benitez now blaming all put woes on Frank?

Truth is all of them have been poor, Frank, Benitez, and the players.

Not one of those has been up to standard.

I liked what I saw when we won the games against Brentford and Leeds. The defending in every other match has been as bad as anything under Benitez. Players heads have gone.
I blame the people turning on Ancelotti still.

The only way they’ll be finished is if Lampard is allowed to clear them out in the summer, if Lampard goes then there’s zero chance any of them go save for Richarlison, DCL and Pickford as they’re the only ones with any value

Sam’s not getting the job ffs

You say Frank is taking us down and then suggest Sam.

And I can’t remember to many games when Rafael had only 2 CB’s no fullbacks apart from Kenny and Mykolenko who’s out of his depth. Of course our best full back Rafael got rid of. And no midfield

Honestly, I'm not sure how many of our players will be bothered if we go down - would they actually feel the weight of shame? Would it be a meek show?
I'm sure some would probably feel it, to some small degree, but overall, no, most of them wouldn't be that bothered - certainly not for more than a few days; and why would they be. We can talk about 'professional pride' but in reality they're not hardcore blues, we're just their current employer in a job they work at.

The simple reality is, if we get relegated a few of the lads will be transferring to other Prem teams, meaning a few more millions in their pockets and others may go to lesser teams, but still for good salary. They'll move on, just like any person leaving one job to go to another, because that's all it is to them.

Haha what the [Poor language removed] are you talking about?

I said Benitez "did get a clap from most supporters in his first game, yes. That doesn't mean he was universally welcomed or that he was given full backing" and "It was apparent to everyone he wasn't universally welcomed at the time."

You said "He was, so please stop lying."

When I laughed at you suggesting that Benitez was universally welcomed, you asked me to prove where you said it. I just did.

On what basis am I all over the place?

If you're more savvy with the board than I am then quote our full conversation for all to see please?

If you think I said that nobody wanted Benitez, then you're confused and not reading what I said properly.

I think it's you that's all over the place here but it's OK, it happens!
Don’t get mad mate, support Frank

We're too cavalier under him.

I suspect his thinking is: "we have a crap defence so you play further up the pitch and place more pressure on the opposition goal then they do on ours".

A more cautious manager - perhaps one who never had the glittering playing career of wins that Lampard has had - looks at the situation differently: "we have a crap defence, so I'll protect it at all costs and pick up any scraps we can in terms of attacking play".

I can understand him seeing the Brentford and Leeds games and believing he'd evaluated the situation correctly, but as soon as we got battered at S'ton and Spurs he should have re-evaluated the situation (especially away from home) and got bodies behind the ball to try and dig out a few draws.

We needed pragmatism but got idealism.
