I dunno, can we afford to? Can we afford not to? Duncan won't save us, or if he does he becomes the greatest living Everton legend
It was shocking he never got more time in caretaker to get a tune/bounce, I would give it to him if we lose we will play awful lump it football which will match the players at our disposal.

When you’re fighting relegation you need a manager in the mould of Big Sam, someone who will hold onto a lead. But Moshiri sacked him for finishing 8th at the behest of us fans!

Having said that, Frank hasn’t made any really glaring errors.
Our heads go down when we’re playing away. That’s the bottom line. Carragher said last week that our players are psychologically weak and that they need to have the backing of the crowd to play well. That makes sense because we do play well at home under Frank and we’re dire away from home. We won our last home match and even when we’ve lost home matches under Frank we’ve given a good account of ourselves. When we lost to the champions last month we deserved a point and in fact we were robbed of a point.

I was reading earlier that between late September and late January we attained just 6 points. 6 points in four months! That’s when the damage was done, particularly in terms of the psychological deterioration of our players.

Let’s hope for a bear pit atmosphere on Saturday at Goodison against the Mancs. Win that and one or two others between now and the end of the season and we’ll likely stay up.
Brilliant post. Agree with every word.

I will be there on Saturday afternoon cheering the lads on. Anything else, such as boos or abuse, is counterproductive. And will help us get relegated, which will literally destroy our club. We will do a Notts Forest.

I hate Allardyce, But I love my team more than I hate that man and I think he would keep us up. That’s how bad we are and how much of a poor position we find ourselves in. It is very depressing.
Can’t stand the man either but he did a decent job last time he was here. He guided us from just above the relegation zone to a top 8 finish.

People calling for Allardyce really don’t care about the club at all
Silly thing to say really.

Because they want us to stay up that means they don’t care about the club?

Would Allardyce have failed to get even a point after being 2-1 at Burnley? Allardyce even got us a point at Anfield last time he was in charge.

Lampard clearly did well at Derby (two goals away from Premier League promotion) and he got Chelsea into the top 4 when he couldn’t sign anyone, but he is not the man for a relegation dogfight.

It’s exactly the opposite, Sam realistically is one of the only managers primed for this exact situation we are are in, I don’t believe anyone has a better record keeping teams up. So saying us wanting Sam back don't care about the club is talking rubbish, the ones that don’t want him are the ones that are happy for us to go down without a whimper
Spot on

People calling for Allardyce must have a screw loose if they honestly think a guy who was sacked by Moshiri -no doubt unfairly in Sam's eyes- would (a) give Moshiri the time of day, and (b) would do a 180 in retirement to come back for an owner/club that binned him off at the first opportunity, to try to save a team that looks unsaveable, has awful fixtures, and all for the reward of getting binned off again in the summer if he did keep us up.

Absolute lunacy to think there's any universe in which this would happen. ?
Good point.

The shambles that is this season, has made me revise my opinion on the Allardyce era. He took us from what was a precarious position, to an 8th place finish in the league.

The football was dire, but he did the job he was brought in to do. This job was always going to be a tough task for Lampard, considering his lack of experience.

Disappointed in Lampard! On the surface seems like someone who would excel as a manager. Not quite sure where it has gone wrong.
