Holgate shouldn't be anywhere near an Everton starting 11 after his shambles of an effort away to Palace. His ship sailed as far as I'm concerned after that performance, just like Gomes.

Yet here we are about to pinning our hopes on Holgate. He's capable because he had his best game for us at the pit last season. Problem is we've seen him being utterly hopeless in about 20 games since.

Don't get me started on Richarlison up front. He better bang in a hattrick as a way of an apology for some of his finishing this season.

I mean we were getting tonked regardless of the lineup but I'd like to see smart, sensible decisions if he's meant to be here long term.

Richy up front reminds me of the Rudiger omission treatment at Chelsea.
