I've said from day one: he saves us and he's a hero; takes us down and he's sacked.

It's a nonsense.

Sure, Lampard come into a bad situation.

His job was to improve that.

He hasn't.

I wanted him to replace Benitez.

Sadly, and unfortunately - it's looking right man, wrong time.

I want him to manage us next season if we stay up - just think his lack of pragmatism/experience early days has cost us.

Never give the players this excuse. The utter garbage performances they turned in against crap teams like Burnley are why we are where we are.
