I like him but I do get some Tim Sherwood vibes when he was at Villa sometimes, its the inexperience. And he came in with this idea we could "play our way out of it" when we just don't have the squad. I don't blame him though I'd put relegation 80% on the recruitment/owner and players if we drop. We have been more solid since Spurs but still not getting enough points. The desperation for results increases with each match especially with Burnley now on a run, away performances have been killing us all season, but the truth is we have had issues away from home for year's. And keeping Benitez in situ for so long made it a tough task for any coach to turn this around. We aren't down yet but I am worried very worried.

Not for me mate. We were in a good moment against West Ham, had them pinned back and looked the most likely to score until in quick succession Iwobi and Keane mistakes.

Burnley game, Richarlison with a golden chance to put us 3-1 up and that would have been game over.

Individual mistakes and not managers mistakes cost us in those 2 games.
Thing is though, that Burnley game we needed to not be beaten by them. That made it job done. A more cautious manager than Lampard less open than him thinks: "Are this lot going to get by us twice in the last half hour if I set up two banks of 4 and 5 and leave one up to keep them thinking about a counter attack?".

That's the manager we needed that night. It was that result that put us right in it.

As for West Ham: confidence inspiring draw was what was required. Just too open and too much swagger for a team in our position.

FL learned a lesson today. Play that way away from home and you're more likely to get results. Today he could have got a point if it wasn't for the now regular corrupt officials. However it may be too late as now it's in poker terms "all in".

Can't wait for Frank's "salute" moment!

I thought his inexperience showed there: on level terms with WHU and the team are going hell for leather for a second; 2-1 up after an hour with Burnley and we're looking to add the 3rd and 4th.

Should have shut up shop on each occassion and we'd be clear of this mess right now.
I'm not sure trying to shut up shop is the thing to do with our defence, Benitez tried it every game and we still leaked goals like a sieve.

This team cant set up defensively as their concentration levels arnt good enough and they have frequent lapses in judgement. That was half the problem with Benitez. He set us up to be defensive but we arnt good enough to do that for long periods as someone cracks and makes a mistake. Plus playing like that your relying on attacking players making quality decisions when we do have a counter, but we dont have quality technical or creative players, so its individual quality.

Lampard is trying to be more proactive and trying to create more chances, we did v Leicester but Richarlison wasted 2.

I like him. He has a bit of class about him and he wants to play football the right way. He's been dealt a shocking hand and some rotten luck but I want him to stay even if we do go down.

Couldn’t agree more. In both games when leading Burnley and drawing with west game we needed the set up and mentality that we had today. We were far too open in both and paid the price accordingly.

You dont have to do it for 90 minutes, just do what you have to do to get on terms or your nose in front and then lock it up...against West Ham and Burnley the team went on the offensive to try and gild the lily when we were half an hour away from getting good away results.

It's a shame about Lampard. It looks like he might not get the chance to learn from these errors and for us to benefit from him learning them. But his mindset has been way too open for us in our position.
