He wasn’t cut out for premier league football. Easy on the eye, but absolutely no defensive side. We used to get over run when he played. He was targeted.

He set up some goals and scored some and we could have done with those this year had it not been for a fat kopite and his massive ego.

We carried him fine last year and did a lot better than we have done this season. The positives outweighed the negatives and that decision, especially given the situation with our other attacking mid, has had a big impact on our ability to fashion decent chances this year.

Lampard has double the amount of points in Feb, March and April incl 1st. May as Benitez got in Oct, Nov, Dec.

Allardyce was ok but he helped spend 27m or similar on Tosun who was horrific and another 20m (?) on Walcott who was on an obvious downward trajectory.

What would the squad look like now I wonder if we had kept with him ?
