Answers a few of the questions that have been thrown about regarding 4-3-3 etc etc

….I’m critical of him but I totally understand his reasoning. Very articulate and I anticipated what he said.

He wanted to shut Watford out and he thought we’d have enough in the top third to score a goal but ‘we lacked the zip’. He didn’t change things because he still believed what he was doing was right.

i disagree, but I get it. I criticise him but I like him, excellent interview, excellent insight.

Aye - we had all the ball and were playing a lot in and around their box. In the end it was poor individual decision making in that final third that prevented us scoring rather than any real tactical flaws.

…’we just need to get recruitment spot on’. Such an easy sounding objective but one that has troubled not only this club for so, so long.

Let’s not forget, the club is in a mess in this regards because we now know Moshiri brings in his own players, the Manager brings in his own players, and sometimes the DoF brings in his own players. Three recruitment strands working separately.

Folk blamed Brands. Perhaps Brands had the diplomacy to at least keep things relatively harmonious.

The reality is we have a new Manager and a new DoF. We have no real idea of their worth regarding recruitment but more importantly, will the internal systems we have in place still be a mess or will the DoF be able to operate like a DoF?

’We just have to get recruitment spot on’ is perhaps the understatement of the decade. We have no idea.

Here's our recruitment under our beloved leaders thus far according to Spotrac. We can only hope the new DoF has more ability when it comes to negotiating player contracts. Even with contracts ending this summer we're still stuck with so many on ridiculous wages which are crippling us in the FFP. This is a 3 year project and I hope Frank has the ability and desire to take this journey with us once we've sorted out the minor irritation of Premiership survival.

Still can’t get over that we gave Michael Keane a new five year deal.

Not a big fan but it could be worse. Plus we have been crap for 25+ years and it's not like we are going to win anything (regardless of manager) in the WWE Premier League for the next 20...sad but true

Did he mention it was not a walking football league ? lol

I have seen paint dry quicker TBH.....

i would say since he's come in he's only had 4 horrendous results

that being the 3-1 defeat to Newcastle - this was his first away game and at the time Newcastle were still in the relegation zone and we took a 1-0 lead and then got absolutely battered for the remainder of the game

the 2-0 defeat to southampton away - we just weren't even in that game and got battered the entire 90 minutes by southampton

losing to spurs 5-0 away for obvious reasons

losing to palace 4-0 away for obvious reasons

he was unlucky to lose to man city and we gave a good account of ourselves at anfield

you could argue that the defeats to wolves, burnley and west ham could have been avoided but they were very tight games which we were unlucky to lose

since that defeat to burnley we have looked much better defensively and much more organised but lest not forget that we have also required heroics from pickford to help us out

is he the right manager? time will tell

there are so many things that need improvement in this squad. i don't see any real ability on the ball, any decent passers aside from delph and the attack looks toothless at times

I'm actually happier he's taking this stance and has changed approach. We've tightened up and nicked wins and cut down the number of goals we concede. That was what worried me about him.

At this stage I'm not arsed how we win, as long as we win and stay up.

It's worth remembering that we were shafted by refs and VAR at Newcastle (away) - shelvey not sent off, Southampton - denied penalty and City as well. City game should have been a point!

I think right now frank is being ultra conservative in his tactics because he doesn't trust anyone it fee very like Carlo at the end of the season. Doesn't wanna try new players or tinker with the formula because theres an element of fear there

I know the Watford result was less than ideal.

But imagine a world in which we didnt get 2 unexpected results against Chelsea and Leicester.

I know Fronk was partially to blame, but 2 weeks ago we were 5 points away from safety, firmly rooted in the bottom 3 and looking lost at sea.

How I slept that week I still dont know.
