I don't think anyone came up with them as such, the issue was (and still is) we could only do structured deals with a low cost upfront. Most clubs are not even going to entertain this idea unless they can afford it as they also need money themselves to replace said player/strengthen in other areas.
Which means the likelihood of us signing a competent striker, who'll get us the goals, is not as likely as we are all hoping it to be.

Every game and scenario is different.

Had we been peppering wolves all game and was close to scoring, yes go for it.

But that had not happened at all, you could tell how the game was going and our only progressive passing defender was off the pitch.

At that moment on 92 mins in a game we showed very little…..keep what we have.
Well, true about the scenarios, but my scenario was asking you if the same situation,, and we looked the most likely winners anyway- and came close to scoring in the last few minutes, realising how three points could get us a few places up the league (rather than take one and hope everyone else loses). I think you’re just going it the “hindsight bore” angle myself.

There has already been suggestions that any deals will be in the same vain, It wouldn't surprise me if nothing much happens and we end up trying to juggle Dom's fitness till the end of the season.

Depends on the options on the pitch….timing of the game etc.

All I can do is sat how it was and went yesterday, and we lost that game because of this gamble to win as you say.

We did not look the most likely to win at all, and wolves brought on fast players to counter us.

Every DOF/manager signs the odd bad player - Liverpools DOF is boss yet just spunked £80 millions on a South American Andy Carroll.

Fans beat Lampard/Thelwell with McNeil/Maupay but then dont give either credit for Coady/Tarks/Onana and scouting Kudus who again its not their fault Ajax pulled the plug on that deal.
What I`d say on that aswell, we went after Diaz, didnt get him and now he is at Liverpool. We went after Gakpo (Allegedly), who has just snapped him up?

So I think we are looking in the right places but finances govern what we can and cant do...

If this is the case, we're pretty much accepting that relegation may be a strong possibility, as we'd be relying on others to not get themselves over the line.

Not scoring goals is our biggest problem; to be safe, we need to rectify that. Regardless of whether it's Lampard or not, we need a finisher as a minimum.

Ideally, we'd get a goalscorer up top, a wider player who'll possess an attacking threat alongside some goals, and Dom comes back to fitness.

As I've said earlier, I think that'd be enough to push us to a mid-table position, let alone safety. The real problem is that a striker isn't as likely as we're hoping.

A wider player and Dom being fit are even further from reality. The only hope is that Thelwell made big changes at the back and midfield, and can do it again.

Why do people have this mirage that dom coming back will change anything

Our wingers don't get the ball into the striker, this is the problem, we could have lewandowski up there but what good is it if gray and Gordon can't pick them out whenever they actually decide to get it in the box

They made proactive subs but created little. I think what we have here is obviously someone who was at the game debating with someone who clearly wasn’t. So only one of us can seemingly understand why the fans wanted to score a winner and climb up the table knowing we have two very tough games coming up.

Well you way lost the game, well played.
