2022/23 Frank Lampard

Expectations have dropped, a season of mid table (13th or above) would probably be accepted next season as well.

I think most realise how weak our squad is and how financially handcuffed we are

The “show some ambition” crowd will kick up a fuss, but right now it’s all about staying in the league

Benitez succeeded in turning us into the small team he always said we were and Lampard is just trying to keep us afloat in the short term

It’s miserable stuff, but it is what it is

You can live in fantasy or reality

We played poor against wolves yes everyone is entitled to have a bit of a moan.we get a great point at city working there arses off and no credit from some on here it's still moan moan. Why do you bother supporting Everton go and do some yoga with ye birds

Afraid so. Can kick and scream all day long. Wont change how poorly the recruitment has been over a sustained 6/7 years.
Reality is it will take long to recover. And thats even if you have the right man in the job.

It was always a survival season

That's an indictment on Moshiri and the board.

Up top would agree but midfield and defence and the GK are pretty solid.

Its a convenient excuse to justify the managers poor win % when last season most fans were demanding Benitez surpass Carlo's 59 points which would have likely meant top 7/8...

More lies.

Not one person on here, was expecting us to hit 59 points.

Not even the Benitez boot lickers like you.

Dont stats bear that out?
6th in the league for goals conceded.
18th in the table for goals scored.
Hasnt that just answered your complaint.
Not doing to bad in the areas other than up front. Where the club has failed to recruit for so long.

Who's claimed he isnt under pressure. Lots of managers are under pressure but not 1 loss away from sacked.
This has been done to death now. If you have the perfect candidate throw his name into the ring right now. Bearing in mind the two previous managers combined were possibly the most experienced managers you could find in world football. One couldnt get decent performances but dragged results out. The other couldnt get performances or results.
So we've gone down that road. We now have an inexperienced manager who's now just done under a year and you want him sacked. He hasnt changed the mess around in under a year. Get rid.
So, give us the person next?
Eh? I’d respond but you seem to be confusing me with somebody who wants to sack Lampard. I don’t. And certainly not for Moyes or Martinez.

I am saying that he is most certainly in the danger zone, though. The City point helps him hugely. A win over Brighton probably sees him safe. A loss and he’s right under the cosh again. That’s the nature of things when you’ve had 3 wins in 17.

Happy New Year.

I never questioned he wasnt under pressure. I said he wasnt automatically 1 loss from the sack. Which he isnt.

Id still like to see your choice for manager. We can all say who we wouldnt want.

Stats dont tell everything though otherwise you go down xG road.

Most of the season I think Lampard has played pretty conservative football which reflects in the stats.

Now when he's "gone for it" and pushed Onana further forward we've been carved open by teams like Bournemouth.

So whilst 1-2 new attacking players will likely mean more goals scored, it doesn't mean our defensive stats will stay as positive as they have been as it will ultimately depend on how he is able to set the team up / what tactics are in place.

I stopped reading there.
They were basic goal difference stats.
Dont start with that xg bollocks that i didnt even go near to.

Let’s not wet our pants if we lose to Brighton. They’re a very good team and the 2 games after that are much more winnable
Really hoping for six points in the next two games but I realistically expect four points if we are to start taking the threat of relegation seriously and to build on any momentum potential from yesterday‘s result. Anything less gives me less confidence of staying up
