I understand people being worried about the next 2 important games and think getting rid of FL now will help us in that, but there is no-one that can take over in the interim. It could backfire massively
Giving him Utd away is just weird because their reserves will beat us at Old Trafford
Unless we have a good manager lined up what's the point?
And by good I mean not the usual suspects thrown around in the media
So far Dyche is the best of those mentioned and he's as much a tactical dinosaur as Benitez, lets be honest, probably worse

Like.

Rooney has started to be mentioned what of him.

Again, I've already reached my tipping point, but I don't think it's as strange as you're suggesting. You gradually get to a point where you're saying 'I still believe in you but this needs to be turned around quickly' until you finally reach breaking point, and say that one more defeat is just one defeat too many, whoever it comes against. It's not just a football thing, it happens in every day life. How many people have split up with a partner over a minor argument, because it's the final straw, or quit a job after a day that was no worse than 100 others but just meant you'd had your fill? Whenever he was sacked, it would evidently be because the previous performance and/or result had been enough to convince the decision makers that it was over. For a lot of people here it was Tuesday night, that much is clear. It's not that crazy to think that the board might be arriving at the same conclusion one game later.
I understand the argument you're making, but the bold passage is the bit I disagree with in particular.

It makes no sense to put it on the United game. If it's on that game, he should be gone already because losing to United away doesn't tell us anything new.

I edited my previous comment a bit too late, but basically I think Southampton will be the game.

Brighton was the game!

Yep, I’d have sacked him after the game like Gerrard was. That was a 5-2 Benitez moment not acceptable.

He is not solely to blame, Board and players mainly, but changing system all the time after getting a good result on Saturday doesn’t make sense.
Sack the board.

To be honest I have no clue how his teams play. Apparently did well with limited resources at Derby but still went down, I don't know anything else.
A big risk, and I don't think he'd want that risk now either. Can't see him risking being the guy that went down with Everton, not the kind of pressure for a fan imo

I think IF Rooney came in it would be with the agreement he’d stay if we went down, with little blame placed on him. Which the board might think offered some weird stability compared to a better manager coming in who’d walk away if the worst happened.

Looks like they are leaving Frank hanging in the wind until we lose to United.
If he was staying you would have expected Kenwright or Moshiri to have come out and backed him.

Think the board are just buying themselves time to find a replacement. I don't think the result in the United game will make much difference either way, in the long run.

They had a point deduction of 21 points. They finsihed on 34 points (2nd bottom), Had they kept those 21 points, they would have finished 14 points clear of the relegation zone.

It started with 12 points deducted, and then 9, they were as bad as any club has ever been financially and had major issues with the stadium not being owned?

He did a very good job there with no resources whatsoever.

Whether that translates into the EPL is anybodies guess.. but he did a good job.

They lost 31 players in summer of 2021, most of whom actually went to Championship clubs or abroad. So not entirely just youth releases. Signed only free agents and a couple of undisclosed (early int he summer). Jagielka and Davies were the centre back partnership (both ancient), the ylost Jagielka due to rules and not being able to extend his contract in January. And lastly they had a lot, ALOT of players born 2000 or later.

If that is the proviso they have for hiring a manager then they are even worse than they seem. We have to stay up. Whether that is splashing the cash to help Lampard get goals up front or splashing the cash to get a manager we know will keep us up and bring obvious progression I don't know, but if we go down, whether the manager stays or goes will be the least of our problems

Like I say, I think it can get to a point where it doesn't really matter who it's against. It's not necessarily about telling you something new, it's about just getting a result and proving that all isn't lost. What you're saying in some ways makes it even more understandable - you look at it and say I can't see us getting anything there whoever's in charge, so let's give him one more chance to stop the rot. If he does then you say OK maybe this is a turning point, and if he doesn't you think well we've not lost anything because we wouldn't have won there under Tait either. I'd have sacked him already, I just disagree with the idea that it's a completely bonkers stance, because ultimately it will always come down to one game.

That is impressive tbf
I forgot about the points deduction, just remembered the lack of resources and unpaid wages etc.
Still think he'd swerve this mess though, the club is too close to his heart

I think that was the plan with Lampard.

Not going very well so far.
