2022/23 Frank Lampard

People are getting sucked in by tonight's game . Ya we showed a bit of fight and looked a little better. But there wasn't a whole lot of pressure on in a cup game at old Trafford. We showed something similar at city last week and 3 days later got embarrassed at home .
Passion and fight will help , but until the coaching and tactical set up is much better then we aren't getting out of this mess.
We need better players, too. End of.

We need a better manager too. End of.
We do.

What we need though is frankly a manager who can vastly overperform if they're to get this current squad out of danger. They aren't easy to find. Especially for a board and owner as useless as ours.

If not, then any manager will need new additions to stand a fighting chance.

We should have had two signings through the door already, because it's been obvious what was needed for months. Whoever the manager is, they'll need those players.

35 points from 36 league games?

22 losses from 42 games overall?

3 wins in 18 this season?

52% LOSS record?

1 win in the last 11?

Relegation zone, and two cup exits?

He's still here?

"Small cloob."
Exactly and even some blues have now flip flopped after last night just because we played better but still got beat 3 - 1, just not humiliatingly so. That is how sad we are now as a club and fanbase. Getting beaten but not humiliated is seen as an achievement now. You don't get much smaller club mentality than that.

We are in massive trouble if they don't pull the plug immediately. Be lucky if we win another 3 games this season.

We do Toff, no doubt about that.

I am personally so conflicted. I don’t see how any manager, including pep would see out that sort of statistical lineup against Lampards and the teams performance.

It’s virtually unheard of for a manager to stay with that type of record, other clubs are proactive and move quickly to stop the rot. We seem to drag it to it’s inevitable conclusion, sack him in feb when it’s near too late and then scramble as fast as possible.

I said this last season, and I stand by it now. I like Frank, I like how he wants to play football - but he was the wrong manager at the wrong time.

If the club give him the Southampton game and he over thinks it going 433 and we lose - it’s going to be horrific in goodison.

I feel for Frank I do as I think he wants to do well for us, but for me tactically he is inept.

Oh it's a separate issue to me mate.

Do I think Lampard is good enough? No. His record is awful.

Is this the worst Everton squad I've seen in about 20 years? Absolutely it is, it's awful.

It's not to me that we should stick with Frank for definite because the answer is signing players. My problem is people treating it like it's a silver bullet. It isn't, at all. We played fine margins football earlier this season and didn't win a game in six, because we had no goals in the side. Sean Dyche isn't suddenly going to turn Gordon, McNeil and Gray into consistently good creative players, for example.

We have a very poor squad and unless that changes by significant improvements this month then Everton will be scrapping for their lives until mid-May, under any manager.

As for Lampard, he's maybe tried to run before he could walk this season, and the DoF too. The Maupay signing is a clear example of that. A player suited to a more possession-based game where players are running beyond him and there's lots of opportunities in the box. McNeil, too. An example of a player that might be a decent option if a team already has 2 quality wingers ahead of him, but not as a regular starter.

I see why you did there Toff with the subliminal message ;)

Seeing people say 5 at the back and back frank he will keep us up.

How do we play in that style (the easiest style of all in terms of setting up) when we are against teams who will sit in also?

They will sat back and pick us off like normal.

We cannot go into the second half of a season with a manager with this kind of record.

I like Frank, great guy but enoughs enough.

We have to roll the dice

Yeah I agree mate.

My argument is always a good manager is someone who can pride 20% extra out of the players.

Even tho Frank has stumbled Iwobi into some good form which I praise him for.

A good manager would get an extra 10% from these players, and with a few new signings (hopefully) see us around 14th and up.

But many are saying bring in sean dyche to play that way. If dyche had been in charge against city and got a 1-1 draw the same people would be going see i told you. What would dyche have done against Brighton? The same formation? Thats fair enough as thats what he does. But teams who dont score enough generally are the teams that get relegated.
We need more fire power up front. And that goes for any manager who might be here.
