Exactly and even some blues have now flip flopped after last night just because we played better but still got beat 3 - 1, just not humiliatingly so. That is how sad we are now as a club and fanbase. Getting beaten but not humiliated is seen as an achievement now. You don't get much smaller club mentality than that.

We are in massive trouble if they don't pull the plug immediately. Be lucky if we win another 3 games this season.
See a lot of comments where people say "if we play like this more, we'll be fine". We don't though. We have a plucky draw against Man City, lose to Man U but not too badly and people think it'll be alright. We've lost to Wolves, Leicester, Bournemouth. Scraped a draw against Leeds and Forest. We need to be smashing the poor clubs and then we'll be alright. Having the tactics to not lose too badly to the better clubs is all well and good, but we need to win against the likes of Wolves and I don't think we know how to play to do this. Maybe we should just sit back against all of the clubs and do a Burnley, but even they got relegated doing that eventually.

As u said mate, he was below us last season, cast your mind back to how bad we were, he couldn’t scramble points to go above 2-5 to Watford Everton. If he is so good why didn’t Villa, Brighton, Wolves get him?

Villa have spent, will spend, and looking for Europe due to the outlay
Brighton have great owners and a plan
Wolves have a very foreign centric hierarchy and a good squad

We have zero of the above so are aim is lower

Yeah I agree mate.

My argument is always a good manager is someone who can pride 20% extra out of the players.

Even tho Frank has stumbled Iwobi into some good form which I praise him for.

A good manager would get an extra 10% from these players, and with a few new signings (hopefully) see us around 14th and up.

IMO this is the relegation battle atm. Even if we had a different manager, with this squad I don't think we'd have more than another 4-5 points, so I honestly think we'd still very much be in it. One or two wins could make all the difference in the world, especially if they came in the next two games. Ultimately Lampard looks like he has little chance of getting those victories, but I don't know what manager would do, that we could realistically appoint, with this squad.

My view on it is if they're going to sack him, then sack him now and get somebody in for these massive two games, with the last 3 weeks of the window to play with.

If not, then back him with signings NOW, because they are needed anyway.

But many are saying bring in sean dyche to play that way. If dyche had been in charge against city and got a 1-1 draw the same people would be going see i told you. What would dyche have done against Brighton? The same formation? Thats fair enough as thats what he does. But teams who dont score enough generally are the teams that get relegated.
We need more fire power up front. And that goes for any manager who might be here.
Maybe be so but what managers get a pass with Frank's record?

There hasn't been any improvement what's so over in 12 months. And thats down to his persistent attempt to play a system which doesn't suit the players we have.

I just think he will take us down tbh

This. People simply aren't getting it because they must think our squad is decent.

We have zero attacking threat unless we manage to get Gray the ball in space.

Has everyone forgotten that that was also Benitez's entire tactical plan and we were crap then, too? But at least had Richarlison to call on.

It's looking like the board are not going to fire Lampard yet, if that is the case, they need to get a competent centre forward from somewhere, as we can't rely on DCL. Lampard needs to get it through his skull that we don't have the players for all this measured patient football and trying to pass the ball around to win games. If he wants to stay here in the medium term he needs to accept that we are far better with a back three, staying compact defensively and then breaking out quickly.

Even against the teams who we expect to beat, our next home game for example, we can use this system, but, with Gordon and Vinagre as wing backs, to allow us to be a bit more attacking. Against the better teams Coleman and Mykolenko can play as wing backs, we also need to play 2 up front and just get the ball up the pitch quickly.

This will look horrible admittedly, but, it is our only chance of staying up, either with Lampard or some other manager. We have a very average squad and need to use tactics to make the best of them. I've no confidence in Lampard to do this and fully expect us to be back to trying to patiently pass Southampton off the park and have our two slow centre backs exposed by expecting them to play high up and leaving too much space behind them.

Biggest problem we have is spotting gems of players to bring in, that actually all click. Last manager to get this right was Moyes with Fellaini, Baines, Pienaar, Cahill, Lescott and others.

Can we bring Moyes back in a role just to find these players again!

yep it’s got to be one of the other and now either one if we want a chance

I think the current squad will take us down aswell. I dont mind the gamble of a new manager bounce. But thats all it is. Desperate gamble time.

Still need a couple of forwards either way.
