So we just sit and let it sink?

We have to think short term for the time being, will Lampard keep us up? As much as I like him and wanted him to succeed I have seen no evidence that he will. Maybe no one will, but based off lampards record, it'll only end one way
A very fair reply mate, a reply I can't argue against. It's just that it's not new territory for us now, we've gone through managers at an alarming rate and make the club more toxic to future employees every time we do......with no benefit to performances on the pitch.

My real point is we sack Lampard and we still rely on Davies to do a job, for Lewin to get fit, for the wing backs to come of age, for Doucoure,Gana,McNeil, Gordon, Maupay,Godfrey to put continuous decent displays, all whilst we pay wages for Ali, Vinagre, and a host of others who are here solely for pay day.

It's hopeless as the rot that's set in since the Moyes maybe Martinez days finally now sinks in.

I just reckon a new manager will be a sticking plaster. Scape goating Lampard to hopefully save the boards backsides is just a another inane turn in this sorry tale.

The new manager will be a sticking plaster 100% - but if it saves us from relegation then it doesn’t matter right now, surely that’s the only short term priority.

If there is a manager out there that has a better chance than Lampard of keeping us up then we have to do it. I guess the question is - would someone like dyche stand a better chance of keeping us up? I would probably say yes.

Alongside that this momentum to get the board out has to continue - but we simply cannot go down or it’s game over for us I fear.

Anyone saying it's all about the players, no manager could get a tune out of this lot, needs to explain how Burnley are now the top scorers across the four top divisions, and managed to look like City yesterday against a Prem team after losing their 2 best goalies, 2 best defenders, top goalscorer and making a £44 million profit on transfers last summer.

Staggering he is keeping his job. What does it take to get sacked? A positive result against Southampton will be the worst thing we can do because it will give him another month in the job, and we won’t win another game with him. Miles out of his depth.

I’m sick of hearing “I do like Lampard though.” So what, it’s irrelevant. We’ve won 3 league games and it is January.

The underlying stats are dreadful.

I saw Bournemouth’s recent run of form recently - lost 9 out of the last 11, the two they won…no guesses there.

Were really in a mess aren't we,

Every door we open there is nothing but a cliff edge to walk off on the other side of the door

I've heard from 2 separate people today that Joe Royle is being lined up with Dunc as his assistant until the end of the season.

Disclaimer; I'm not even close to being in the know.
Joe Royle is at Oldham. In some capacity,
Hasn't his son got something to do with owning it.?
My second favourite manager after Kendal, but that ship has surely sailed long ago.

A positive result will certainly not be the worst thing we can do

We need 3 points and currently that game gives us our best chance of trying to get them

Precisely.

This squad is a relegation-battling one whichever manager is in charge.

Sean Dyche or Marcelino or whoever else, while better managers I'm sure (Marcelino definitely is) aren't going to make this side a safe mid-table team, because it is not good enough.

People need to get that into their heads.

Everton need to make signings, regardless of who the manager is.

Keep seeing the argument 'The board is the issue!' on twitter mostly. And whilst I agree they're a massive issue, a decent board would also come in here and sack Lampard.
The current board and owner would pick a replacement if they sack Lampard

That's more than enough reason to conclude the problems lie higher than the manager position

He will not leave us by resigning because he would not then get compo. He will stick it out to be sacked so he can the millions due under his contract.
