We hired a long term manager in lampard, sold his best player and main source of goals, started the long term plan of resetting the squad and now just 12 months later we are going to sack him based on poor results as a result of the reset and years of poor running of the club which is incredible really. It is concerning if fans think hiring dyche who is a manager who has one relegation and sacked before another is anywhere near an answer for long term progression.

This team is devoid of attacking options, quality and numbers in players and without any funds clearly to be able to address any of that so there is only one result that will come from this. It doesn't matter who the manager is if players play simple balls to the other team leading to goals/chances against us. We don't have a set piece taker in the squad so we have very little in the way of attacking threat if we planned to sit back and be solid. We can't be expansive because of the lack of quality up the pitch with poor shooting, positioning and decision making.

Arteta was demanded to be sacked by the fans not too long ago but the club stuck by him and allowed him to rebuild the squad and here fans would replace lampard with a manager who never improved Burnley , especially when you compare to Moyes who didn't have infinite funds but improved us over time.
Lampard was the one who greenlighted replacing Richarlison with McNeil and Maupay. Lampard was the one who said “we only needed a striker because DCL got an unexpected injury,” Lampard is the one who has managed a team to Three league wins.

Don't care about long term at the moment, what use is long term if we're relegated

Have we sold a lot of players? We’ve brought in quite a few, but the squad isn’t much different from last season other than it’s had a brand new midfield and centre of defence added to it. Other than missing Richarlison, there’s an argument to say the rest of the squad is much improved compared to this time last year.

You add a fwd to it who can score and it’s a half decent squad, which I believe a better manager would get more from.
There was a moment Friday night where gray had the ball on the left and maupay ran between the United defenders and it cried out for the ball to be played forward for him. Gray instead chose to run , get into trouble, pass to Coleman, who overhit it to iwobi and seconds later pickford is saving a chance. If you don't have the players who have brains to play for the team then we could have anyone up front and it would not matter. We need team players , right now we have selfish ones who score the odd goal and are the main reason why we struggle for the rest of the time.

In terms of selling, we have sold quite a few senior players since last January who may not have been good enough but it's a large amount to let go without really replacing them. If you went back a few years ago and said we would sell gomes Allan James digne richarlison and not replace them then you would think we would be relegated at that point.

I just don't rate Lampard. I don't think he's improved anything in the 12 months he's been here. In fact things are now worse than ever.

Having said that, I'd be happy to give Lampard time if we weren't on the verge of relegation. That's why Arsenal had the luxury of allowing Arteta to carry on. With us, it just looks like Lampard is so far out of depth and if we don't act soon it'll be as good as accepting the drop.

You gave a lot of reasons why Lampard is hard done by but quality managers find a way to get things moving in the right direction. Are we that bad we should be losing to Bournemouth twice in a week and being beaten 4-1 at home by Brighton? I don't think so.
To reply to that last point you made, ancelotti had a lot of this squad and it went backwards during the season , some of the reasons for that have been sold since. If the quality is not there then it doesn't matter who is in charge and I feel that we will learn it soon enough when we do replace the manager. Whether he is a good manager or not remains to be seen but the situation we put him in, not many managers could make that work.

Lampard also was told that we were in danger of breaking ffp rules and all of our signings were designed to be as cheap up front as possible. In today's game when players can go for silly sums of money , the value of a player who is released for a small up front sum is going to reflect there. We only signed onana because the overall deal is considerably much larger over time but we asked for cheap players and we get exactly that in today's game.

If he felt his job was being undermined, he could have resigned. It's too late to blame others. He clearly thought he could make do...and if he didn't he was simply staying in the job for the compo. His right, of course, but that eliminates any need for sympathy.

There is a major difference here. Watch the All or Nothing series and it is abundantly clear that Arteta is operating within a sound organisation. Where the executive and DOF are providing tangible benefits in supporting his aims and developing the club. Arsenals improvement is not just down to Arteta. Josh Kronke and Edu have been key parts of the project.

By contrast if Amazon did an all or nothing series on Everton they'd be as well filming it in a big top.

Arsenal was a case of managing expectations whilst they rebuilt. We are in freefall.

We are desperate for points, desperate. But the longer Lampard stays, the greater the chance we go down.

If we win and then lose to WHU, Arsenal and RS, will people be saying, “well you didn’t expect him to get anything against them teams did you, let’s see how we do against Leeds and Villa now”

It just keep rolling over, he is getting away with murder, his stats are diabolical, very close to Mike Walker territory.

I'm not disagreeing with you but the most important game is the next one which is Southampton. I want us to win that one and then I'll worry about the next game after that.

What really get's me about it all, (and I am for keeping Lampard still) is the backroom staff we have, many big name ex pros who were true A listers.

Cole and Baines for instance, world class wing backs, yet we have probably the worst pairing in many years so far.

Lampard a world class attacking midfielder, yet our midfield look pedestrian and stale against anyone we play, it does not stack.

Also with this massive backroom crew and a DOF don't they ever get vocal?

My lowest point in Lampards reign came when he set up for the City with a real purpose, we looked like we had a plan and it worked beautifully.
Then he changed the system for what was on paper a far easier home clash for the next game and a must win 3 pointer.

Didn't anyone speak up and say "why change what did at city", as many of us fans were screaming for him to do.
He needed only one change there, that was a replacement for Onana, nothing else. So weird.
Because we signed players who need a lot of work and in Myko's case simply aren't very good.

His attacking signings have been horrible. Is he solely to blame? No. Is he a major reason we are going down? Yes.
