You cant be giving away leads and losing home games to rivals. The only hope we have, and it's a slim one, is that Lampard is just awful, and someone else may be better.
I think it would be hard to worse than him to be honest, he seems utterly clueless tactically. Unfortunately I just think it’s too late now. Someone could make them harder to beat and eke out some more points but we’ve had so many of the ‘easier’ games now that I just don’t think there are enough points realistically available anymore. I honestly think we’re all but down already, and any change would be too little too late.

The only thing I'd say mate, is we have half a season, and I know we have Arsenal twice.

But fixtures dont worry me so much. Performance does. We could have easier fixtures, and have had, and have lost them all.

Lampard appears woeful. Like I cant believe hes admitting to not giving tactical instructions. That's about the best and only hope we have, that if you get a manager who has a grasp of tactics, you never know.

Well people do want to appoint Sean Dyche

Whoever the new manager is will likely need backs to the wall football in order to survive. Might as well get a disciple of that approach.

I'd love for us not to be in this situation, but a progressive manager coming in at this stage and with this squad is going to find it so difficult to implement their plans.

Yeah bye Frank. Shame it didn't work out but can't get relegated on good will. Not that I think a managerial change will make a blind bit of difference but the club have to do something. He's had enough time, it just hasn't worked out, wish is a massive shame as he seems to "get" the club/fans. Dyce will be brought in and we might (if we are hugely fortunate) scrape survival this season. Either way the top end of the club is rotten and we only kick the can down the road for another 12 months.

Only positive from today is that it finishes Lampard and puts an end to the ridiculous notion that he will one day become a top level manager so he can take his supposed einstein iq and ply his trade in the championship where he belongs. No bad blood against him just out of his depth and wouldnt mind seeing him getting another team promoted as long as its not at our expense lol

If you buy into the idea that you can't play better you just assure eventual relegation. Maybe it isn't this season, but until we try to play in a way that can score goals and win games we will always be here until we go.

You are right, long term we can’t defend our way to European glory. It’s not a nice thought, but this team isn’t attacking their way out of trouble in the space of 4 months. No chance. Attacking or at least attractive and effective patterns and philosophies can take months or seasons to drill into even smart talented players before it becomes consistent. If it was so easy top managers would happily go to struggling teams and flip them to success all over the shop. There is a reason why all the managers historically known for keeping bad teams up played the same ugly nasty negative football, scraping points in desperation. Squads low on confidence and quality can’t implement the styles we all want. If they could they wouldn’t be crap.
