Did you see the graffiti? Did you see the negative reaction to Pereira? On here and across the board most people were like okay we will take Frank - we don't need to vote to still be heard. See below for the rest...

I agree we should not be run by committee or fear as it is an issue by itself, but there were extreme mitigating circumstances in play. He did the I'm billy big bollox in the summer picking Benitez and it failed horribly. Could he risk doing that twice in a row?

The 2nd paragraph is spot on and more to the point, at the end of the day we are not privy to know who applied or who turned us down. It is quite clear from a transfer point of view we could only offer the incoming manager a budget of 35p and a chomp bar...so the pickings were always going to be slim.
But you said we chose Frank when we clearly didn’t.

It was basically a sealed job for Pierara until, like an absolute lunatic, he phoned up Sky Sports and gave a monumental speech.

They had 2 candidates, him and Frank. We had no say over anything.

When an owner sacks manager they normally have a plan, for the 3rd time in 6 years the owner showed he has no idea.

So one bloke who wrote some graffiti was given the choice of who should be manager based off a media pushed narrative of only 2 poor options?

Rubbish.

I think so too. I don't see the point in bringing anyone in until after the derby. Unless it's someone decent that is. Which is completely fanciful with this board.
If we get beat we need someone in after West Ham for the Arsenal game. I'm pretty sure names will have been well considered by now and there wont be much of a process.

I don’t believe anyone was expecting Allardyce to be here a a long term manager
I think a fair few thought after finishing 8th he deserved another 12mths
I think in them 12mths he could of got us a team difficult to beat, and a good base for a more progressive attack minded manager to take over after the 12mths

Strangely that’s what a lot of people are wanting/expecting of Dyche
He didn’t want to be here any longer. He wanted a pay off. Otherwise he would have changed his style when we were safe with 10 games to go. Instead he stuck to the awful football he plays while also taking regular digs at the fans.

Yeah bring someone in for the new manager bounce and get destroyed 5 nil at home then have to go across the park to that lot and another likely hammering.

(I actually think we will get a result in the derby but I'm a moron who can't win a 1 game acca)

It's negligence to even consider giving Lampard the West Ham game.

How many more times will we throw winnable points away?

We never, ever had that luxury and are in a state of total desperation.

Yet another case of Moshiri and the board refusing to see what is in front of them.

We have no hope, literally none, with this state of affairs.

Lampard has to go today.

All day long mate.

Rewrite history all you want, whether he goes on TV and acts a tit or not he was the owners choice and the fans (lots of them Marius) went on the streets to protest and made it clear the hostilities of the last few months would continue. Whatever you say at that point it is the fans that caused the one to not proceed leaving us with one viable.

You should step up to the plate Marius and show them how it's done, one call to pep and you'll have him here I'm sure. This is a fan base already up in arms remember when Howe was considered and so on..

We'll get relegated with whoever is in charge of this squad, though.

People really need to understand this.

And I'm not backing Lampard. The bloke's useless and looks absolutely lost.

But this squad is CRAP.
This squad is crap, but I'm certain that with the correct coaching and managing, I'm convinced that they can be better than the bottom three in the PL.
Lampard has proved that he's not up to that job.
It's not long ago that Coady and Tarkowski were being hailed as potential England players in the World Cup, now, any Tom, Dick or Harry is waltzing past them. Likewise, we feared losing Gordon for £40 million. Now I think I'd take £10 million.
As much as I despise the way the club is being run, the board are not responsible for the sudden demise of those players. It's the coaching staff who are responsible, led by FL.
His time is over.

I love when people resort to that. Why don’t you step up to the plate blah blah blah.

Because I’m not appointed to the board of a football club who apparently lead the way for how clubs should be run or whatever Kenwright said.

But let’s not pretend we could only attract out of work, poor managers. We had Carlo here like 2 years ago.

I am opposed to both

There is supposed to be a long term plan being implemented across the club which involves a style of football being played across all the age groups

There will be lots and lots of competent managers in the world who are capable of getting half a tune out of our current squad whilst simultaneously playing football in a vaguely similar way to the wider "vision" the club wants.

We do not need to have heard of these managers for them to be competent, but Dyche and Moyes are automatically disregarded because we know their footballing style means a short term approach and the first team doing their own thing, meaning no coherent plan can be implemented across the club and then we keep rinsing and repeating

The next manager does not need to be someone we all know, in fact it would be better if we didn't. Frankly the fans need to keep their noses out of it - let's not forget that a year ago there were literally protests outside the ground demanding that we install Lampard as manager because he was "young and hungry" and seen as someone who would "unite the fanbase". Actually evaluating whether someone is competent or not seems to be an afterthought for these people.

I'm only on board with both a short term replacement I should add. For example giving Allardyce an 18 month contract when you knew he wouldn't be there next season was just setting money on fire.

I'm in agreement though, we need a longer term appointment ideally. But I just don't think the club is anywhere near being ready for a young manager to come in a get to work.

It's why I was so dejected when Real came for Carlo. Had Carlo seen out his contract we would have been in a much healthier position and probably ready for young blood to take the reigns.
