Chatting brown again about having funds for a striker without needing to sell Gordon. If that was the case, we'd have had a striker in a month ago, especially if it's only the calibre of Maupay we're looking for. Quite confident we'll see two attackers brought in, Gordon sold, and then be heavily reliant on the rubbish duo of McNeil and Gray, thus just about being able to hobble over the finishing line this season. I'd love to be wrong.

How's it brown? We are literally signing a striker today, for money, whilst Gordon is still our player.

People saying this but dont know whether powers that be are Everton, or Premier League;

Question: The fact that the window is still open like this and you're still looking to do deals, how does it impact you day-to-day because obviously you've got to think about and concentrate on preperations for the games"

Lampard: "It is what it is. This job is consuming in many ways, we're very fortunate to have these jobs and I'm very fortunate to do what I do. You strive every day to improve the club and the team and while the window is open, it's part of your job. I hope the powers that be understand this isn't the perfect way to do it. It's far too long into the season. There's no doubt. We want to look into the season with an idea about fairness, well fairness isnt the right word but balance to the season that teams can construct a squad that can go from the start of the season to the end of the season and now we're going to be, by the time the window shuts, we're nigh on 6 games in. It's a lot of games, for me it doesn't feel right. I hope they get that right next time"
Considering Lampard stated before the last game of last season he was already preparing what he needed for this season transfer wise, it shows that it’s 100% the boards fault.

We wont know that till Thursday. We are apparently spending 14m on Maupay. Hardly a huge fee in modern football

Definitely read it as a critique of the PL and the transfer window overlapping the season.
Most managers are unhappy about and I believe Lampard complained about it a few weeks ago.
It is a preposterous state of affairs, the window should have closed when the first game of the season kicked off.

He needs to go to a good footballing team and a decent standard, he looks very good and will be wasted on loan with a team of yard dogs.
Agreed. To be honest after his appearance the other night I'll be surprised if there isn't a queue for his services on loan as long as it's not a team full of grocks and it helps him grow his game is the most important thing.
