2022/23 Frank Lampard

You compared where we were this time last year after 11 games. As you now recognise, we were five points better off then - a whole 50% more points than we have earned under Lampard. These are the facts. Everything else is spin. Frank is...failing.

But this is pure spin.

This was the week of the Watford debacle, and a run of 1 win in 13 games.

It was the high point of Benitez, before it all fell apart. It's taken a long time to put back together again. But we are a long way off 1 win in 13 games.

After 11 games we'd just lost to Watford 5.2. We would then win 2 games in 13 losing 11 of them.

5 points better off than last season is completely irrelevant when it turned into one of the worst Everton sides to grace the league.

We've lost narrowly to 4 teams (2 away from home) who will be in the top 7 of the league.

Levels mate.
And what's to say we won't go the same way this season when we are ALREADY 50% worse off than the disastrous Benitez managed last season?

For what it's worth, I don't think it will be as bad, but it is definitely not good enough right now and there is no tangible evidence that Lampard is anything other than an interim appointment clinging on grimly to his job in the manner of his fellow Tory, Liz Truss.

Levelling up, mate.

To be successful in football you have to be ruthless, look at Chelsea, why are they successful ? Cos they are ruthless. Oh we got to give Frank time, he’s bought the fans together, he speaks well, he’s young and up coming. I couldn’t care less about this, I just want us to pick up points so we aren’t in a relegation battle.

Martinez speaks well, at least he plays decent attacking football. We have scored 8 goals in about 12 matches, disgraceful, Bournemouth have scored more than us.
And also shipped 9 in a league game, something we haven’t done, even at our worst, in 64 years

It pains me to say it because he did a reasonable job in keeping us up last season, but I don't think Frank is the long term solution. Our two wins this season were fortunate and could have easily gone the other way. Even the worst team in the division by a country mile (forest) should have beaten us. We look clueless in the final third. Gray is style over substance. Gordon is listening too much too his own hype. Long balls up to the smallest man on the pitch Maupay. Maybe a return for Roberto Martinez back after the world cup.....
Jesus no. If Bobby Martinez came back it'd only be a matter of time before the wheels inevitably fall off again, we sink like a stone again, he'd get sacked again, with a big pay off again, and we'd be right back to square one.

You're right. We are currently 2 in 11.

A time refection i think between now and the weekend.

I think we may be at the point we were after Spurs last season, were a decision has to be made if this game plan is working…..

I don’t think it is, the possession based game isn’t working, I don’t think we have the threat for it and I don’t think the offensive unit is being coached well or the game plan apt, our forward players are isolated and they aren’t supported by their team mates, Gordon and Gray alone Vs 3/4 players on the wing with no suppport, DCL similar. It’s to slow, to predictable, not supported particularly by midfield or full backs.

Overall he needs to look at his philosophy and the possession based plan, it’s not working. All the goals we scored this season have been by direct ball, the possession based game doesn’t work for us.

Frank needs to look at this.
