Gerard is gone. Lampard will be next. The crap being served up cant continue!
Forget this wet dream you continue to have, it’s not happening unless we fell into the bottom 3 at the start of the World Cup, the points will come and come soon. He changed things from 5 at the back to 4 at the back at the start of the season and he’ll tweak things again if need be to turn things around

If you look at us and Villa they look much better in terms of quality and the ability to go on a winning run than us, obviously Villa canning Gerrard will show they wont accept ? and dont mess about but our board will accept just that and leave it way too long...

It will be interesting to see who goes in at Villa... my concern is that they will be another team out of the relegation mix.
Improved? LOL. Two lucky and totaly undeserved wins against underperforming teams is progress. Really. The crap played is progress? Then goodnight Everton.

Lungo's an obvious kopite, so please don't reply to him

It’s like Churchill said about Americans, he will always do the right thing, after he has exhausted the alternatives

The way I look at it, the opening 8 games of the season could have gone either way. We won 2, we lost 2 and we drew the rest. That felt about right. It's not great, but an improvement on last season.

The last three games (all losses) have been a significant downturn on that though - we haven't looked like taking anything from those games and it's primarily the attacking threat which has been missing. It's a slight worry.

Tomorrow is a big game because I don't think we can afford 4 losses on the bounce, the pressure will build quickly. We have a trigger-happy owner who (understandably) is paranoid about the prospect of relegation and as much as we all want to give Lampard time to get this right, if it looks at any point like we are heading south, he'll push the button on him. Last three games have concerned me. We are now really only missing Patterson from our first choice XI, so improvement is required and pretty quickly

Villa are where we were 3 years ago.
Rincing through managers, wasting money.
There next manager with Poch - who will leave when a better job comes along with them In no better position (like ancelloti) or Thomas frank who will like Marco silva, not have the strength of character to hold the dressing room.
We are in a period of consolidation, building a solid base, hard to beat and hopefully finish mid table. and sprinkle a bit of star dust next season.
We have had two bad results for this plan - villa and forest. Admittedly the next three games are pivotal. Will need 6 point min to stay on track before World Cup.

How were the 2 wins undeserved?
The only undeserved point we got this season was against Brentford where I still can’t believe they didn’t score about four

I spoke to a Newcastle fan and he thought they didn’t deserve to win Wednesday and couldn’t believe we didn’t capitalise on them sitting back for an entire half.

Spoke to a Spurs fan who was at the game and thought we should’ve been two up at half time and they got lucky being forced into a formation change and then got lucky with a soft pen.

Villa and Forest also got lucky they faced us before our defence was sorted.

If we don’t get a decent amount of points from the next four I’ll listen to anyone concerned but right now I’m delighted we have a proper defence, a much improved midfield and some characters will balls in the team (Coady Tarkowski versus Keane Holgate is the biggest improvement ever).

Just need to start putting the ball in the net and I think we should play a bit bolder home against Palace versus how we played away at Spurs and Newcastle which is the way it should be imo

5 at the back this season in 6 games v Brentford, Forest, Villa, Chelsea & Spurs = 2 points

4-3-3 in 6 games v Leeds, Liverpool, West Ham, Southampton, Man Utd & Newcastle = 8 points

He doesnt flip flop between systems though! ? I`ll let you decide which system suits us best, last season we earned far more points playing 4-3-3 than the 5 at the back, history is just repeating itself, Frank, Thelwell or both are really pushing to make this 5 at the back work but it never will at Everton, never has!

My concern last season, which many of you know I re-iterated man many times is that playing the back 5 is costing us points, it did last season and it is again this season... Get rid of it and concentrate on playing 4-3-3 every week like Newcastle have done.

Yes, but there was nothing unlucky about allowing us to go into the season with Calvert-Lewin and Maupay to get us goals.

The luck ran out the moment the summer window slammed shut. We reap what was sown.

Feels like a fork in the road moment tomorrow. Three nightmare fixtures in a row out of the way, a win could bring back confidence needed to go on a run and get us clear of trouble before the World Cup. However a defeat could see a lot of fans that are on the fence turn, and once our fans turn there is absolutely no turning them back. This spells the end for managers 100% of the time. Huge game, come on Super ?

That's about the strength of the situation.

Massive game tomorrow, for the club and Lampard in particular.

Let's hope we get a break and scramble a win.

Palace game is critical. The atmosphere against United seemed much more sour than it has done, I think that needs arresting by a positive, front-foot performance. The last thing we need is the Goodison crowd being on the edge of turning for every home game, and it's up to the players to nip that in the bud now.

By the way this forum is turning....GP will too.

Big day for Lampard tomorrow.

I suggest he gets a win.

It's needed, because a loss would ramp up the pressure, but I don't think he'll be sacked if we lose.

He's been here 9 months Dave, and has a net spend of about zero, due to having to sell our best player. He also had to use that money to bring in how many players?

9 months he's been here Dave. The people in the street, where I come from, aren't talking about him being sacked, just yet.
