And 2 points from 9th.......what's the difference?
We need to give ourselves breathing space this year. I'm not sure if we have the stomach or energy to go through another season of that level of anxiety.

When we get home games against rivals like last night then we absolutely cannot lose. Its unacceptable to play like that at home. It has undone the good work of the previous 2 weeks and it was mainly self inflicted

Fans need to hold their nerve the squad is limited but about good enough to avoid relegation and that's where the club lives and will probably remain till Mosh sells up. Precarious balance though if fan unrest transmits itself to the coach and players it's an entirely different scenario. Toxic Goodison, according to Ben Foster, is what the oppo hope for.

It could be worse...just watching Wrexham-Oldham and they're hopeless under Unsworth so he could be relegating them from national league.

Five years ago he was in charge for that comical spell of 5-6 games.

They had a shocker of start of the season but I wouldnt really class Leicester as our rivals. Our keeper and a defender or two get in their starting 11 but I don't think anyone else does. They will easily finish top half.... I still can't believe how bad we were last night:(

Totally get that. In the same boat.

But it's the long game. It gets worrying if we have long spells of losing. So far we're inconsistent but never out of games, we're not collapsing, we're edging to being a difficult team to play against.

Forest, Wolves, Leeds, conceding 3 goals a game takes its toll for example. Southampton will pop as they've been floating around the drop zone for about 3 seasons.

We're lacking firepower and have a chance to improve that in January.

We lost 21 games last season. 21. 3rd worst side in the division for thst. We will not get anywhere near that this season.

I thought we were awful yesterday and didn't compete.

Villa 2-0 v Utd, Emery is exactly the manager we needed...

Iwobi scores that goal early on, it’s a different game. The players confidence went after that miss. Losing to Leicester ain’t shameful, they will be in the top half this season. To many good players across the pitch. However that game was a missed opportunity to go top half table, above them and put little distance between us and the bottom 3. What more motivation do you need, yet they didn’t turn up. Well after the iwobi Miss they went missing.

Brentford have won the same amount of games as us and are 10th (they've drawn 7).

The RS have won 1 more game than us at the moment and are 9th by 2 points.

Every side from 9th to 20th are literally 2 wins away from having some limited breathing space.

Definitely. Very tight which is why I'm saying your only ever one loss away from a crisis and one win away from being right up there.

We’re going to be on this graphic a lot this season because despite what some think this is not 2012 and if we just start playing up we’ll stroll to 7th.

We are one of the worst teams in the league with one of the poorest squads. Last season showed that. Now we improved it marginally in the summer but not enough to easily put relegation worries behind us. Any team in this league outside the top 6 or 7 is capable of losing a lot of games in a row and dropping into this picture with ease.

If Everton fans start flapping about relegation every time we lose a game It’s going to be a very long season.

I honestly have no idea how we ever stayed up in the 90s with some of our fans forecasting relegation after the first loss of every season. It’s an utter joke. Some fans need to grow a backbone and take a day off from wetting the bed.
